Hello all
Haven't posted for ages but been reading along
Recycling bin day tomorrow so went round the flat gathering all the papers and washed out containers. Really need to get into the habit of putting them out daily.
Made scones yesterday which used up some yoghurt which was almost past it. Had a tiny amount of cream left so whipped that up and had it with a scone and my mum's hm raspberry jam for pudding tonight. Rest of the scones have been frozen and then I'll take one out each day for work.
Gorgeous day here. Think tomorrow is going to be the same - I'm going to set the washing machine up so that I can hang the clothes out before I go to work.
Garden is coming on well - I've got rhubarb, onions and tatties growing. Really need to get some lettuce planted as it was really successful last year.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66
Mortgage overpayment savings - £33.53/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £612.990 -
Got my washing up outside this morning and it was lovely and dry by the time I got home. So minimised the use of electricity - I've got a heated airer which apparently doesn't cost much to run but free is better!
Need to dig out my sewing kit because I found 2 buttons off the one of my dresses when I was emptying the washing machine. May have to go on a bit of a hunt as it's been a while since I mended anything and I can't remember where I've put it.
Currently minimising a bubble bath by using it as a shower gel. I got it a gift set for Christmas and don't have a bath, I figure it's all the same stuff anyway.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66

I haven't posted here for ages but the MMMing continues chez nous.
Minimise: The unwanted items that I've been putting in the spare bedroom are getting out of hand now. The idea was to take them to the CS (I have a choice of 5 within walking distance) but, without a car, it would take me a month of Sundays. I've decided to phone one (or maybe a few) charities to see if I can book collection(s) to get rid of everything in one fell swoop.
Visit to dentist at the beginning of the week for annual check up and scale/polish minimised £50+ from my bank account.:(
Grouting between kitchen tiles has had a deep clean with Barkeeper's friend and an old toothbrush and now looks as good as new. Bathroom tiles are next on the hit list.
Make do: I've treated myself to two new sets of curtains for the living room (one summer, one winter) and have gone for eyelet tops as they're much easier to put up and take down - no faffing about with the header tape to make gathers. One pair of each new set are shorter than the old ones and I hadn't realised the nets would be too long for them  so I got DH to lift the sewing machine onto the dining table for me and shortened them.
Mend: The battery in living room clock died today so that's been replaced and clock is happy again.
Tomorrow I shall be outside in the sun as I have several plant pots to empty and clean out ready for summer planting - I'm thinking geraniums as they're fairly easy to look after. And I need to tie a jasmine and a clematis onto their trellises - they've really suffered this year with the wind, snow and rain but seem to be recovering so it's worth doing.Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -
Mrs SD - hope everything is sorted now & your DSis settled.
I've been reading but only sporadic MMM ing. Bought a couple of dozen geraniums a few weeks ago in Morrys - planted them out yesterday in my front window boxes and wall baskets at the back. DH dug the rosemary out of a tub and planted it in the garden along with a sage. I now have two concrete tubs to get rid of. I'm trying to minimise the amount of tubs I have - they're very time consuming to water and I want to make the garden as low maintenance as I can but it's going to be a slow job.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
MMM
