Thank you, Southern Girl and Maman. I've had a look at the reviews and they are good so these might be just what I'm looking for. We are quite strapped for space as we don't drive and travel everywhere by public transport. Also I'm planning for a month long journey to Europe in January/February. We only take hand luggage as we are getting on and off trains so every inch and ounce is precious.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Oh that sounds fantastic! I'm really envious.:)

We've done a couple of 'hand luggage only' trips in the past few years including Poland and Hungary in winter both including train travel. I'm looking forward to hearing about what you plan to take with you. I found leggings invaluable. They take up next to no space. I wore them under my jeans in the daytime to keep warm and then for relaxing in my room before dinner.

We've done trips for the last couple of years at the same time of year and wardrobe wise it does take a bit of planning. Probably more so this time now I've got into fabbing!! I might have to seek your advice on this nearer the time. What I have learned is make sure everything co-ordinates and get things cleaned as you go along. Hotels are expensive for this but there is usually a little laundry nearby which does it for next to nothing.

    Hello Ladies,

I went to Screen Unseen at my local Odeon on Tuesday evening with my daughter which was only £5 per adult ticket. We lucked out, as we watched the true story film American Animals which was all about four young men who decided to steal very valuable, rare books from their local library in Kentucky. I liked the fact that the film was interspersed with the real young men reliving certain points in their story of the heist from their personal points of view. I also found it quite humorous. My 26 year old daughter really enjoyed this film as well. I would give this film 8.5/10 :D

I went to the Silver Screen showing of the true story film Adrift for £3. I was mesmerized by the harrowing ordeal that the young woman goes through, but she was also incredibly brave, courageous and a truly inspiring young woman. I would give this film 9.5/10 :D

I had to accompany my son to his appointment at the bank to change his current account to a student account this morning. Total waste of time as his own bank decided he was not credit worthy enough to have a student account even though he did not want or need any overdraft services. :( The woman dealing with him decided to put in an appeal for him on my son's behalf because it looks like those fraudulent purchases via his PayPal account have left a trail. :(

On a much brighter note his Urbanest accommodation has been confirmed for the 3 year duration of his Degree. It is very modern well appointed purpose built student accommodation in Westminster. This is part of his Bursary he was awarded and would usually cost £269 per week. :j:D:T

Just for you LL. I'm delighted for you!:T

That's brilliant about your son's student accommodation sugarbaby. I'd assumed that he might be staying at home but he'll get so much more from living independently and with other students. I think that's part of the rite of passage into adulthood.

Grr  to his problems with the bank account though. Hopefully the appeal will be successful.

I've made a hair appointment for tomorrow. Today's fabbing will be just my weekly meal plan and shop. I've got an annoying couple of pounds that I've gained because of holidays to lose and although it's not obvious I'd really like to get rid of it. The new term of dancing starts this week so hopefully that'll help too.:)

    Hello lovely ladies

Time for a proper catch up......

SUgarbaby. :T:T excellent news for your son. I agree it's much better if they can live away from home.....part of the rite of passage. He'll love it and I'm sure he'll fly.

Speaking of flying....my youngest son flies to oz on Sunday so he's dropping round to help with a few last minute bits tonight. He's only going for around 17 days......a looooong way for a short visit, 23 hours flying time in all and not one I could do, but they are young and healthy.

Mind DILs mum goes back on Sunday and getting to where they live is a nightmare because British airways no longer operate direct flights. It's a 3 day journey, involving 3 separate flights, but she will break it up by staying with family in Madrid for a few days first. And then a hotel stopover in Caracas. All adds to the cost of course.

Well I have around 9 days now to get my act together. Not much more packing now. I have to say I'm relieved it's all final now......it's been 4 months. Realistically I started packing too soon, I could have left it another month or so.....it's not much fun being surrounded by boxes. But, hey it will all be worth it.

Maman....still not had my hair cut. I shall do it next week. At least food will be easy......just use up what there is. :rotfl:

    Great news, LL.

Today was our day out. We were going to go into town but there are roadworks and diversions everywhere so we decided to have a pub lunch locally. Very nice it was too and I was quite well behaved. Only one small glass of wine! Dressed nicely, make up on and hair styled.

I bought the travel straighteners. Small and light. Just what I need. They should keep this mop under control.

I'm now having a cup of jasmine tea. Usually after I've been out it would be another glass or wine.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
