    Morning,

Been pretty wet and miserable here and not going to improve much I don't think. Enjoy your nice weather Alfie (jealous)

Had a nice win yesterday - a £50 Ticketmaster code from the Ribena Instant Comp. Really pleased with that. Been looking at theatres etc and tempted by "War Horse" in Glasgow in January. My Pepsi glasses and sharing bowl arrived yesterday but with an Indian person's name on the packet! The glasses are really nice.

Anyway as I said before we are heading off tomorrow, staying at Stirling and then off up into the Highlands for 4 nights where I don't think we will have the internet as it is someones private holiday house. Spending 2 nights at Aberdeen on way back as it was the only place I could find with vacancies that didn't cost a fortune as bank holiday weekend. Actually found bargains!

Hoping to visit John O'Groats and Culloden battlefield while we are away as I haven't been to either.
Will keep in touch when I can.

    Wishing everyone lots of luck.

shiels you should go and see War Horse it is fab Also very emotional. Culloden from what I remember is just a big open space not a lot to see. When I saw it there was not a visitors centre or anything just a few plaques here and there. Hope you enjoy your time up north and midges are not too bothersome and vicious.

Thanks rose. We will be passing Culloden on our way to Aberdeen so will stop as we are NTS members so will be free anyway! Going to see Brodie Castle just a few miles from it too.
Have seen the War Horse film so the theatre sounds good although checking out the hotels first.

Have checked the midge forecast! The areas we are going to seem to be generally midge free. Going to eat a lot of garlic just in case as seemingly that puts insects of biting you :rotfl:

Thats funny you should say that rose - we have visited before and out of all the castles in the area that is the one we want to go back to!
We are hoping to call in and see the lovely gardens again.

    Thanks indie.

WD shiels. I remember years ago winning a Winalot comp. (did not even remember entering it as I do not have a dog) The prize was a years worth of dried dog food. DS took me down to the cat and dog home in Hamilton and I gave it to them. They were very happy to accept when I explained how I got it. Even gave them the letter that was with it to prove where it came from.
