Morning already!
I did sleep a little better, although I had very weird dreams. One involving a snake swallowing an alligator!! Don't ask
So I have walked myself through my day, well until tea time anyway. I am not expecting any surprises or hiccups.
Twin2 rang me last night to say she may have a new job as a cleaner in a school, once the police check is done. So I presume it will be starting in January. She's made a small batch of soap that's now ready for sale, and for once she didn't ring asking for Money. Although it is her birthday on the 19th, so I will probably send her a little something into the bank, rather than a present she doesn't want or need. I have not seen her since Biggest wedding, but I don't have time to get down to Cornwall before Christmas. I really will have to prioritise a time in the new year.
Time to properly start my day. Time to wake the sleeping demon that lurks in Dgd!! ( only joking- it's hormonal Pre teens!)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hope your day goes as planned Mooloo, without any nasty surprises.0

Not too bad, small moan from Dgd but she went to school.
Managed most of what I wanted to do. But I was a little slower as I still have a headache and can feel the tension in my shoulders, so I think I may have to invest in a massage, I used to go weekly but haven't been since the beginning of the year as my lady went off on maternity leave.
My silver coins for the children arrived today, and Biggest Christmas present that she requested.
I managed to put another £90 into savings this week, so I am happy with that. I am still waiting for Ryanair to respond to my compensation claim.
That would be handy. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

One day I will say that I had a whole night sleep and no bad dreams, but not today! Oh well there is always tomorrow.
Stayed up far too late watching children in need. Being thankful that the difficulties my children had/have are nothing compared to some. But also wishing that when they were growing up that I could have had access to some of the help available out there, but I didn't even know that they existed. I do fear that we need more and more charity funded nurses, carers etc as the council and state funding gets cut further and further.
Today is a half day at work, and I am not teaching. Although I advertise classes there has not been any interest, not even with advertising in the National Magazines. I had hoped that it would have been better received as people ask about lessons but few follow through. I was hoping that it would be a nice little earner. The children are not in today either, but that means that I can finish at 2pm instead of 3
Every cloud has a silver lining then.
I have a couple of fittings booked in, one chap had his suit altered, tried it on, took it home and then rang me last night to say it needs taking in more. I wonder if he's loosing weight for his wedding like half the brides do?
I didn't win the lottery so I better get to work.
I want my little house in Portugal, I will need to make and sell a lot of cushions and bunting then!
I am hoping Ryanair will refund me soon, and my Pension fund should be in my bank in the next 10 days. I would love to get my savings up to £10,000 for Christmas.
I will need £47 a day between now and my holiday to achieve it.
Perhaps today I will do the fittings and then do some making, and photography work for my Makes page on FB.
Better get dressed and off to work then! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Feet up, cuppa tea, Christmas movies. Shop was very quiet today so I did some tidying, sorting and photography and pictures of the Makes are on Facebook now.
I brought home some vintage curtain fabric to make some cushions. After my movieWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Decided to sew while the movie was on. Can't finish the cushions as I don't have any zips, cut 4 rectangular cushions, 2 square and a draught excluder made up as far as I can from two toning vintage fabrics.
Getting some talk on FB about the items I put on today.
New neighbours suggest that I sell on Etsy. I tried it about 5 years ago, but it might be worth trying again.
If the woman on Money For Nothing can sell vintage fabrics turned into cushions then so can I.
Dinner early as I was hungry. Just wondering what to do next. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
You have almost ten grand in savings? Would you not be better clearing any credit card debt you have rather than building your savings up? Plus surely having that sum of money in the bank means that the housing benefit you get will be reduced?
My goodness, from the posts you make on here I thought you were struggling financially, never would have thought you had almost 10k sitting in a savings account.
Surely it is sensible to pay off debt then build savings up? Or actually use some of the cash to stop you having to scrimp in other aspects of your life.0 -
You seem more positive ! Well done. We all have challenges in life.
I didn't realise your savings were so high either. I hope you are aware if it's coming from the pension (taking it as a lump sum) you need to declare it to tax credits as it's classed as income. Any savings over £6000 needs declared to the council to.
Take care.0
