Well done bubbs, whiplashy, barleysugar, caterina, chrisv and matron midge on your losses.

I'm pleased to report -5lb (over two weeks) for me.

Relieved as I had had a bit of a meltdown and gorged on chocolate on Wednesday, but I kept to plan for all the other days and it doesn't appear to have had a disastrous effect, thank goodness. I've now given OH the kit-kat tin to hide to prevent a re-occurrence.

    Todays plan;

    Breakfast - kippers
Lunch - ham sandwich with wholemeal bread (HEXB), red pepper slices
Dinner - HM cottage pie with swede and carrot topping

Snacks - HEXA cheese, red peppers
  • -2 1/2 lbs and happy with that. Off to Pilates soon for some body magic and trying to stick to plan as a Saturday after weigh in has always been my treat day....

OH could hear me (from the bathroom) replicating a scene from a famous film .. shouting YES YES YES.

    OH is also relieved.

Now lets hope the swelling stomach reduces, I have stuck to the plan all through the frustrating period, so hoping for some weight loss now.

I'm back!! Had a fab time in Egypt over Christmas and then went back down home to visit family and then celebrate with them. It did result in a 7.5lb gain on Wednesday at group from over the 3 weeks I was away from my group so I'm using that as my starting point now.

How many weeks are left in this challenge so I can set myself an appropriate target?!

Hi - I wondered if there was a SW thread in here, between paying debts, slimming world, work and running I don't have much else, so I should say hi here I guess!

I started going to SW in June 2016, I'm currently 4.5 stone down, 3 more to go. I desperately want to get those gone before my 35th Birthday in July, but that's a tough ask, I know. I was up at 19 stone at my heaviest, I'm just under 14 now. I want to be 10st 3.

My main issue with SW is the cost. My food bills used to cost £30/week, but they are up at 60-90 now. It's a very middle-class diet, no way poorer people could afford this, but I decided that losing some heft was more important than paying bills right now. Roll on target so I don't have to pay!

I've eaten the same thing for lunch since I started, Szechuan Chilli Chicken - it's basically rice with chicken, peppers, and seasonings. It's filling, reheats well and has half a syn. People mock me for it but then I just bust out my instagram picture. I'm focussed and don't have time to explain my food for them.

My biggest problem is drinking - I work for a brewery and we get free beer and we socialise a lot. I'm also rather into craft ales, so I've found it hard giving up weekly visits to pubs. We're down to a couple of times a month, rather than week now.

I'm sure you guys are as lovely as the people I've found in the challenges threads, I'm excited to share our journeys and watch us all get to where we want to be. x

Welcome! And congratulations on your loss so far.

It's an interesting comment about the increased cost - how many are you feeding ? And what have been the changes to your shopping list to cause the increase ?

Our main weekly shopping bill (at LIDL) is about £40-50 for the two of us. I found that it has gone up a bit since I started SW - by about £10 - mainly due to the fact that we're buying the more expensive 5% fat beef mince and pork and far more fruit and veg, but we have fewer takeaways and spur of the moment extras such as cakes, shop bought sandwiches and chocolate so I think it balances out and overall we're spending about the same.

The main problem with shopping in LIDL is keeping OH away from all the DIY tools in the centre aisles !

Like several others on this board I don't actually go to group, as I tend to travel quite a bit so can't commit to a regular meeting. And the online membership seems expensive for what it is. I bought the starter pack off e-bay and google or ask here if I can't find syn values. I've been following SW since the start of October and have lost 2 and a half stone so far - still a lot more to go though. This thread here is my virtual group, and a very friendly and supportive one it is too.

Welcome Mofette :) Well done on your loss so far :T I find SW a bit more expensive but I try to get as much of my speed as possible from the super 6 in Aldi. Some weeks are better than others though, as I'm not keen on fruit and veg. I also go to group and as I'm in Ireland, that's €9 a week  That's some conversion rate SW use! And I can't resist buying 2 boxes of hi-fi bars each week.

Great to see more losses coming in. Congrats everyone :T

I made myself a big pot of speed soup this morning so that will keep me going for the next couple of days. Wasn't as nice as last weeks though and I can't work out why. I've gotten very slack on drinking my water the last couple of days so hoping to get my 2 litres in today. Having an SP day today as I want a burger for dinner but I also want my hi-fi bars :rotfl:
