Can I recover all my lost photos?

Rather than concentrate on the unknown (16GB), work with the known (8GB) working stick. You've used it in the past with no issues - your issues started once you used the 16GB stick.
Most importantly, do not write anything to the 8GB stick until you have your photos back. So during recovery, do not choose to save your photos back on the USB stick - make a temporary folder on your desktop for now.
I've had varying degrees of success with Recuva. Usually successful, but not all the time. As mentioned earlier in the thread, PhotoRec will give you the best chances of recovery. There is little to no learning curve for this program. It is very much self explanatory.
Once you have all your photos, copy them back to the 8GB stick. Then report back here and we can discuss ways of checking out your 16GB stick and formatting it.0 -
Were they not all deleted on a single date when you moved them to the memory stick?
No, I usually move photos from my phone to Dropbox, then save them to the USB as and when I take them. Then delete from Dropbox immediately.Biggest win: £10,000 from PepsiFavourite win: Handmade jewellery worth £1000ITV Winners Club Member #1Check out the ITV Winners Club in IWIWIWI shall write in ever decreasing circles until I have nothing left to say0 -

Do you also delete them from the Dropbox Deleted Files area? If you didn't they might still be there by selecting 'Show Deleted Files' from the 'My Files' page.
Just a thought.0 -

Log into Dropbox and select Files on the left hand side. (This is on the new interface).
Look to the right hand side of the next page and the bottom entry should be 'Show Deleted Files'. Click on that.0 -

Take care with Photorec. You may find it easier to use the graphical version?EverDecreasingCircles wrote: »OK, Photorec seems to be working now so I'll let you know how I get on...

(the program is called QPhotoRec which should be part of the package you have already got.)0
