I’ve just heard my cousin was declared brain dead this morning. They are keeping her ‘alive’ to harvest organs, but she is gone. She would have been 25 tomorrow. I think I’m just numb.

So very sad. My heart goes out to you all.

FBO I am sorry to hear the latest news about your cousin. I'm awed by the strength shown by her family in allowing her to save other people's lives.

    Love to you all

FOB what a wonderful family, that in the midst of their grief they can think of others.
In years to come I'm sure that they will have comfort in knowing that because of their loss and their kindness others are living full and healthy lives.

You just reminded me I need to do a side to side turn. Last time I tried to do a flip I ended up with the mattress on the floor and me on top of it
Better than you on the floor and the mattress on top. ;)
We banished Ronnie fromthe bedroom whilst we turned the mattress; he wasn't impressed, but better an indignant dog than a squished one.

I was woken at 8am by the HT bearing hot coffee. I did sleep better last night but woke coughing a few times so a gentle start to the day with hot liquid was very much welcomed and he was very pleased with himself for managing it (first time ever).
Well done, HT. You've raised a good lad there, Cranky.

Right, I need to start dins (veggie toad in the hole) and see if Ronnie feels like eating; he's not happy with the fireworks going off already.

We shall do our usual - stay in, play video games til 23:55, and just put the tv on for the midnight chimes.

    Happy New Year, everyone.

To FBO, sending you a load of hugs for you and your selfless family. I wish I could say something to help xx
Hope your mum makes a full recovery nmlc, it must be such a big worry for you all xx

I have the grandchildren sleeping over tonight so I shall put on a big smile and hug them tight. There will be someone very special missing from our home this evening. I spoke to the hospital earlier and she had had a bit of a better day but it will be a long road ahead for her to recovery. I really hope next year will be better for all of us.
