Not posted for a while as well there's not been much to report. I'm feeling so much better - eating well and have put on a few pounds (I lost almost 2 and half stone due to being so unwell), going for 2 walks every day and increasing the distance daily, my wound is healing up well and I haven't taken painkillers for over a week plus I'm getting used to having a stoma bag and all that it entails. My plan is to stay with my parents for another few weeks and go home at the start of October by which time I should be allowed to drive. I'll then probably look to go back to work at the start of November, maybe earlier depending on how I feel.

Money wise I've spent very little here - bought an electric toothbrush and a few long sleeve tops, took my mum out for lunch, joined the ileostomy association, caught the bus a few times and bought a couple of items from the shop today, altogether under £80.

I've not paid much towards the debt and probably will just make minimum payments for the time being as being off sick means reduced pay. Even though I get full pay which is great, no overtime makes a difference and obviously I can't work for 2nd job at the moment either.

Anyway, will try and post more regularly. Hope everyone is well x

  • Wishing you well for your recovery, which seems to be on track.

Take good care of yourself and don't even think about work till you are really well enough to go back. Better to wait a while and be sure than to take a risk with your health.

So pleased that you are on the mend :-)
  • It sounds like you’ve really been through the mill. Take care
