Why shouldn't you keep the tin? They are always useful for storing useful things in. I have quite a few useful tins in my hobby studio and around the house which are full of all sorts of bits and bobs.
My favourite place to store little things are in the small Yankee candle glass jars with little lids. Does anyone else use these pretty little jars to store things in? I have a couple of rows of them on a shelf with beads in, drawing pins and mostly arty things. They are so useful and look so pretty but I still can not be without my tins
Only 2 items for me today
1 Hair mask UU and tub recycled. The hair mask has been on my hair for 24 hours now  and as I have long hair it is too late to wash it otherwise it won't be dry by my bedtime. Looks like it is going to have to stay on my hair until I finish my jobs in and around the garden tomorrow
 That's going to be just under 48 hours in total it has been on
Nothing better than taking good care of your hair is there?? :rotfl:
Also 1 tube Super Glue UU

retiredinfrance, well done on getting into the 300’s :T:T Re your decorative tin, you are ‘allowed’ :rotfl: to keep pretty thingsI have a small decorative tin (had loose leaf tea which was given to the worms) which is soooo pretty :rotfl: it hasn’t got a use yet other than being ............ oh yes it has - now has household fuses in it :rotfl:
Today was yet another pottering day for me, with my next project started - emptying, cleaning & sorting out my ‘Wall unit of Doom’ AGAIN (:o I had used it as a dumping ground prior to going to France :rotfl:) but DSis has been busy again - she has REFILLED two boxes with blankets which are labelled ready to go in the loft :T:T also she & my DH have fastened all the new shelving units & wardrobes to the walls + DH has built a corner wall shelving unit & put it up :T Only one more wall shelf to be assembled & put upthen DSis can start arranging the clothes, ornaments etc (which she has already unpacked) into their final resting places so
B1017 - B1023 Four cardboard boxes broken down & recycled, large sheet of bubble wrap binned & two filled boxes to be relocated to loft
My pottering today included making bed, sorting post, general tidying, indoor bins emptied into appropriate wheelie bins, washing up done as & when, sugar bowl refilled yet again, teabag jar refilled, worktops wiped down, all stainless steel handles & appliances wiped down with their specific wipes :rotfl: & I started my new project - the ‘Wall Unit of Doom’ :rotfl:
B1024 - B1078 Fifty one leaflets, envelopes, sheets of paper etc, 0.75” thick book, two plastic bottles rinsed, paper bag - ALL recycled
B1079 - B1082 One non recyclable plastic tray & packaging, two non recyclable plastic bags, cheque book holder - ALL binned
Having decided on the wall unit project, I emptied, cleaned & sorted out one cupboard with its four cubbyholes :T. Found a large box of Christmas cards which should cover me for at least 4 years :rotfl: very MSE of me :money:, boxes of photos (winter project binning, scanning & saving good photos into on display photo albums :rotfl:), folder of my sporting achievements badges & certificates + several trophies - lots of reminiscing at how active I was up until my early forties :rotfl:
I also found most of the paperwork associated with sorting out my DM’s estate - from ten years ago  Now in a better place emotionally, so nearly all of it was shredded - 220 individual pieces of paper but for counting purposes - eleven lots of 20 sheets
B1083 - B1083 Shredding which resulted in a large bag being wheelie binned
All four cubbyholes are now sorted & there was enough space to relocate items from a 5th cubbyhole which is now empty :T
B1084 - B1086 Truffle box (empty of course :rotfl:), Packet of large photo album refill sheets & a 9” by 7” clip-in photo frame - CS
So all in all a good day for me & the sun was shining so lots ts of sunbathing as well :rotfl:

792 a tablecloth
793 more paperwork shredded

795 half finished child S embroidery set for which the threads are missing.
796 found some new ovengloves so binned a pair that weren't very best proof any more
Hopefully more to come later.0 -
Hi all. I’ve been lurking with absolutely no intent for the past couple of days. There’s been a lot of really good decluttering totals being hit :T, which have [STRIKE]guilted [/STRIKE]inspired me to toddle back into the RoD and see what I could find.
I haven’t been completely idle, but it’s mostly been puttering about ‘consolidating’ with lots of intervals to sleep. I have S&Sed kitchen and bathroom +1 every day. The washing’s completely up to date, although the ironing still is not. Have you guessed yet that it’s my least favourite job?! There isn’t actually a lot of it, so I may try and get it done tomorrow.
DD’s just come over from her dad’s. The Cunning Plan was to do a bit of a shop, drop the car off for its MOT then she’d return to Glasgow tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately, she spent half last night awake with severe pain in her jaw and has an appointment with the G-Dens tomorrow morning. Hopefully, they’ll be able to sort her out and she can travel down as planned, but we’ll have to see. Poor girl doesn’t seem to have much luck...(Although, on the bright side, it’s better now than when she’s in Portugal at her friend’s wedding at the end of this month!)
Anyway, I made a quick foray into the RoD with some success! There was an old swing bin that was acting a holder for some window-cleaning brushes, some bits of a Hoover we don’t have any more and (of all things!) a somewhat scaffy pair of socks. No. I don’t know either! Brushes put with rest of cleaning stuff and everything else binned/recycled. In a knock-on declutter, the bin has been repurposed as a container for the rabbit’s cat litter and another, smaller, bin containing her food. This partially declutters the hidey-hole behind the sofa.
The results are:
Swing bin + contents, 12lbs
Cat litter, 22.75lbs
Rabbit food + repurposed bin, 4.5lbs
Totals
Day’s Total 39.25lbs
Running total 1445.75lbs
Happy decluttering, everybody! And, as Mrs SD would say, onwards and outwards!A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Today was yet another pottering day for me - no work done on my ‘Wall unit of Doom’ BUT the rest of my DSis’s crates & boxes have been restacked in a sensible fashion & I now have full access to the ‘Wall Unit of Doom’ :rotfl: so no excuses tomorrow :rotfl: plus there is loads more space :T
DSis has been busy again - she has taken two more boxes into her room to sort :T My DH has assembled & put up the last wall shelf - a great disappointment as it is a lot smaller than it lookedDSis has now started arranging her clothes, ornaments etc (which she has already unpacked) into their final resting places so
B1087 - B1090 Four cardboard boxes dismantled to be put in loft
B1091 - B1093 Cardboard Boxes Broken up & recycled
My pottering today included stripping bed, turning mattress with DH’s help, making bed with new bed linen & sewing on a missing button on the duvet cover (as per no.1 :T), washing, drying & folding bed linen, washing, drying & folding DSis’s bed linen, general tidying, indoor bins emptied into appropriate wheelie bins, washing up done as & when, dried & put away, sugar bowl refilled yet again, teabag & coffee jars refilled, worktops wiped down, sorting out DM’s sewing tin (very old (poss 60 years) Peek & Freans biscuit tin, helping restack crates/boxes & I have a crate of books to bag up for cs + various other bits from France for cs (the items & number of books will be listed in next post :rotfl:)
B1094 - B1102 Two foil trays, newspaper, plastic bottle rinsed, glass wine bottle rinsed, cardboard packaging, kitchen roll inner, plastic milk carton rinsed, cardboard box broken down - ALL recycled
B1103 - B1121 Three non recyclable plastic trays & packaging, six non recyclable plastic bags, four non recyclable plastic packets, four bits of non recyclable packaging, two strips of non effective allergy tablets - ALL binned
B1122 - B1126 Double sheet, bath towel & 3 flannels - CS
So all in all another good day & the sun shone occasionally & it didn’t rain even though it was very windy :rotfl:
