Hi there. There’s been some really good decluttering going on since I last posted. Well done all.

Retiredinfrance – I loved your story about the labels. Just the sort of thing that happens to me!
Mrs SD – Sorry to hear about your friend's troubles. Hope the electrics are sorted soon. BTW - I can't remember if you said - how long is DSis likely to be with you?

I’ve been mostly puttering about. I have been getting up every (weekday) morning at 6.30 to sleep clean and have S&Sed kitchen and bathroom +1 every day. The washing’s up to date, although the ironing still isn’t. Having done too much footwork on Monday, I took a (for me) mega-painkiller on Tuesday and went back to bed after breakfast. Instead of the hour I had planned, I spent the whole morning in bed and was still wiped out for the rest of the day. So, unsurprisingly, hoovering was out today and decluttering’s been a bit of a wash out. So I’ve been getting really frustrated.

Anyway, I decided I’d go into the RoD and try to find a couple of quick fixes to boost totals and morale. Mission accomplished! I found some off-cuts of vinyl floor covering that I’d kept for repairs to the kitchen flooring. Really useful, if we hadn’t changed to a different design! I also found a 12 piece dinner set belonging to DD, which is now stored in her cupboard.

Not a great deal in the scheme of things, but it’s rebooted my efforts with the following results:
    Vinyl floor covering, 8lbs
    Dinner Set, 13lbs

    Totals
    Day’s Total 21lbs
    Running total 1406.5lbs

Off to bed for an early night - with some normal painkillers, or my head will never get straight! Happy decluttering, everybody!
A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

    CHALLENGES

    2025 Declutter:
    1 CONTAINER (box/bag/folder etc) per day; 50/365
1 FROG (minimum) per week; 6/52
WEIGHT I'll start with 25 lbs (though I need to lose more!) and see how it goes...🤔 0/25

    2025 NSDs: 15 per MONTH - FEB 4/15; JAN 21/15
    2025 Fashion on the Ration: (carried over from 2024) 10+66 = 76

Well done everyone. Doesn't matter if it is small amount going out the door or a huge amount it is still getting rid of clutter which we are all aiming to do :)

Following a Migraine the other day and having to spend the whole day in bed I managed to sort out a few bits and bobs to go the following day as I dare not go in the garden with the bright sunlight.

And guess what Mrs SD?? I made a note of my total on my last post so I have it to hand for this one :j Didn't want to give you another excuse to sit outside :rotfl: and didn't want to be blamed for you not adding to your total as you were sitting there all day helping me :rotfl::D

    As mentioned previously,I am a self-employed cleaner.
Today,I was cleaning for a friend of mine. While I was there,I realised that she still has a washing basket and 3 bath-towels of mine :rotfl:.(I had "lent" her the towels about 6 weeks ago,and a couple of weeks later, returned to her, some items, belonging to her,in the wash basket). She has had all these items for long enough that I had forgotten about it,and I think she has forgotten.
So,not expecting any of these things back (cross fingers, otherwise it is really going to mess up my counting for this challenge :rotfl::rotfl:),I am adding to my decluttering numbers:
    1004:washing basket (I still own 2 )
    1005-1007:3 bath towels
    SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76
    Pinecone £301,Valued Opinions £10.50

  • 1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

villagelife & rootle, numbers ticking over nicely :T

marmiterulesok, :hello: good numbers but books also weigh quite a bit :rotfl: I do love a decorative tin & I admire you for recycling :T

:rotfl: edwink, I really do not need an excuse to sit out in the sun :rotfl: but thanks for thinking of me :D and well done on going past the 600 mark :T:j

Today was yet another pottering day for me, with one big task (which turned out to be relatively painless) but DSis has been busy again - she has emptied another two boxes of clothes + two boxes of bedding, so

B967 - B975 Three double sheets, Fitted sheet, two pillowcases, African Animals motif - double fitted sheet, double sheet & double duvet cover - cs

DH has decluttered a shedload of money having his Goldwing (motorbike :rotfl:) repaired while it was in the garage on a recall to replace the airbag - yes, you have read that correctly - AIRBAG :rotfl: , plus decluttered hair & beard at the barbers & treated himself to a full English breakfast. The specialist fuses arrived today & DH replaced dud one, so we now have overhead lights upstairs :T
:A my DH is a saint :A - he has taken DSis to Sainsbob’s - just had a phone call from DH & he is tearing his hair out - he is following my shopping list & DSis is wandering around looking at everything - he keeps having to try & find her  Lots of extra bits picked up by DSis - she seems to ignore the fact that I only have one fridge/freezer & a small kitchen grrrr + she forgets that you can food shop in London 24/7 so do not NEED to buy extra food just in case ...........
She is exceedingly wasteful when it comes to food & I will just NOT stand for it :D. Rant over :D

My pottering today included making bed, sorting post, phoning bank, general tidying, washing up done as & when, sugar bowl refilled again, worktops wiped & ta-da ALL five kitchen drawers cleaned & sorted :rotfl: - 2 large and deep & 3 shallow - a few things are going to cs BUT I must have got rid of all the ‘aspirational’ stuff last time around, as all I am donating are duplicates :T:D

B976 - B985 Two Newspapers, three magazines, toilet roll inner, cardboard drink carton rinsed, plastic milk carton rinsed, two leaflets - ALL recycled

B986 - B996 Four non recyclable plastic trays & packaging, two non recyclable plastic bags, non usable cling film, four bits of plastic cutlery - binned

B997 - B1016 Stainless steel 3.5” paring knife, two sets of chopsticks, two wooden Wok utensils, five 12” wooden cake dowels, two palette knives, toffee hammer, nutcracker, three tea towels, long handled plastic measuring spoon & two measuring scoops - ALL to cs

    :j:j over a thousand :j:j & over half way on my second 2018 :T:T

Now that the kitchen is finished, I have to decide on my next mini project - of course this is dependent on accessibility bearing in mind the warehouse state of my home :rotfl:

I am sure I will think of something, as I am now on the trail of my next mini target of 1,250 :D

    More done today.

777 a moisturiser sample used up.
778 room diffuser bottle and lid recycled
779 reeds from room diffuser also recycled.
780-789 magazines and catalogues either recycled or given to DH for work.
790 more junk mail shredded. DH leaves it in piles around the house.

Done more than I thought I would today as I concentrated on cleaning the house.
  • 294 opened a jammed Coronation tin found when hunting the packet of labels and it was full of at least 4yr old unused corn plasters. LOL Now in bin.
295 bag of ribbons to CS
295 - 302 books , large heavy ones, to CS.
On the upward slope now to my 365 target and still miles to go.
