170-176 more books and now loads of space on the shelves.
177 pair of earrings for CS another place to hunt. The family jewells area super place to declutter. Before leaving the UK I went to sell odd bits of silver and some stuff of my late mum's and surprise surprise I got £210 there was some tiny bits of what the expert called scrap gold and a rather strange ugly non gold Victorian brooch. Just goes to show, you never know...... That was a better day than when I only got £7 for my scrap copper pile!

Well done Mrs SD your lists of possible declutter are inspirational. Cleaning whether deep or not is not nearly as much fun.

Lol, you would think so with that amount! It's mostly jewellery I inherited a couple of years back. I've kept what meant something and didn't see much point on holding onto the rest. My mum would have said she was a collector but the truth is she was a hoarder and just liked buying jewellery. Well, we all have our collections here and I will not become a hoarder thanks to this thread. No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -
Oh my-it is over a month since I have done any decluttering .
Actually, that is not technically true.As some of you might know,I have had a cleaning business for a few years.Over the last month or so,I have expanded into decluttering.Being paid to help declutter and tidy other people's houses :j:j:j:j:j.
But still,my own ouse has been allowed to slip,so I must get back ontrack.
Today I donated some stuff that has been hanging around the house for about a month-it was stuff that my 9yo and 11yo had decluttered from their bedroom.I was also supposed to drive to the tip and get rid of stuff, but didn't feel like it,so junk is still in my car.
As part of this challenge, last year I got rid of over 4000 items between the house and loft (which I count on a seperate tally). The 574 out so far this year is since Jan 1st,2018:
575-576:2 pairs leggings
577-578:2 blouse
579:1 jacket
580:1 dress
581:1 pair shorts
582:jumper
583:beanie
584:fleece
585:long-sleeved shirt
586:black skirt
587:shower caddy

Please can I join in, see my post on living a simpler life.......
My one big problem is my OH, he is a hoarder, there is stuff in the house from 70 years ago!! Some of it is little bits of cuttings from newspapers, it drives my nuts. We have already de cluttered the book cases we did have 2 we are now down to one and that is in danger of being swamped, he has a table at the side of his chair its like a dump, the chest on his side of the bed is the same. I do have a basket of stuff at the side of the settee, it mostly has photographs in I want to transfer to discs. We did at one point have 6 albums, large ones at that. We do still have one which has photos in of the first trip we made to the US, it is very precious, it had photos in of OH's cousin and his wife and family, all of whom are now dead. I guess it may go the way of all flesh at some point, but not whilst OH is still here.
I have started to declutter, but have more stuff to go plus the dresser which is in the sitting room. Most of it goes to our local hospice, but Emmaus have opened a shop in our town so anything household related goes to them. They either sell it on or use it to kit out accommodation for the homeless.
When we moved 3 years ago I outed a load of baking tins etc which I not longer used, recently more went the same way, the hospice has a container in which it collects metal which it then sells on to the scrap people, they do quite well with it.0 -

The problem with my dressing table and drawers being a bit full is that SIL gives me items that she opens and just doesn't like the smell of or just tries once or twice and doesn't like the texture of. She is just so wastefuland I hate waste. Some are really expensive brands I could never afford myself ever. Anyway I have used up some now and given lots to my neighbour but still have a way to go with them.
Guess who has forgotten her total again?:o Be back in a mo to add it
