  • Mrs SD, we just love Starry Night, too. In the bottom corner DH and I can just be seen!
Thanks to you all for the great posts while I have been away from the screen. I have forgotten my total but am going to start at 330 and post in tens and new trick - if I find one object to go I look for a pair .
    So , here we are
332 two bags of books to CS(about 16-18)
334 two fancy plates to CS
336 pair of slippers to bin ( yes , I know, but two objects.)
338 two small bags of samples I will never use up to CS for freebies.
340 two worn towels to rag recyc.
Welcome to all the new declutterers, and especially to Irish Rose. Very sad to see to see the Primark store fire .I remember it well and also when it was The Bank Buildings.
Marmite, I wish I had your emotional energy. I have started on the photos many times but never get very far.
Off into the garden. September is when I think we are getting ahead of nature.

Retiredinfrance, you sold yourself short :rotfl: - you were on 342 on Page 58 :D So grand total is “352” - I found edwink’s numbers, so only fair I find yours :rotfl: Remember you have a 365 target to reach :D BEFORE you up it to 500 :rotfl:

Well done on the photo decluttering, marmiterules :T. I have thousands of photos going back 40 years . I know there are loads of out of focus photos - so I might take a few packets out & start culling :o - You have inspired me :T :T

    See you later

  • 1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

    3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED

candygirl, you really do not need to number - whatever works for you is the right thing :D It might be that you see spaces where there were none before or that you have a full recycling bin or even that you have a designated location for everything or even a full cs bag :D
At the risk of repeating myself - every single item out is a lightening of your sense of well being :D It never ceases to amaze me how oppressive ‘stuff’ is :rotfl:

A dry day again but overcast & not as warm as yesterday. Waved my DH off this morning - he is doing his motorcycle Round Britain Rally & is stopping in a pub in the Lake District.

DSis went out for a couple of hours this afternoon after hanging out her load of washing. She has put the td on to finish them off.

Had a very lazy day today - walked past the dock & did litter duty - 276 bits of plastic, paper, cans, bottles, cigarette packets & even a barbecue tray :rotfl: picked up & binned - so much stuff that I topped up 3 Street bins to bursting :rotfl:

The cormorant was there BUT again no camera :o plus I finally saw a Swan - the only one this year :D

The sm wasn’t too busy & they had lacto free skimmed milk in stock :rotfl: Didn’t have to wait long for the bus either :T

Home & everything put away including finding space in the freezer for the extra pork chops :D

Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up; worktops washed down; vacuumed our bedroom, landing & spare room; filled sugar bowl; general tidying

The day to day decluttering generated

C620 - C628 Non recyclable - plastic pot, 4 plastic bags, 2 lots of plastic tray & packaging, 2 plastic packaging - binned
C629 - C631 Tin can, milk carton, foil tray - Rinsed & recycled
C632 - C638 Newspaper, toilet roll tube, 4 lots of cardboard packaging, paper bag - recycled

Having had a day off, tomorrow I will start blitzing the wall unit again & hopefully find a few things to top up the cs bags.

May your decluttering mojo continue to be strong :rotfl:

    Oh I am pleased!

I took some stuff up to the cs that I'd already listed.
  • hello everyone, you've all been busy! I tried to keep off the computer for a day or so, and find pages of new declutters.

The tree surgeon has now pulled down the shed, the unwanted contents and parts are piled up ready to be removed as a mixed load. The decent logs from the trees are waiting on the small front garden for my friends with a log-burner to collect when they can.

The result of being at home more for tea-making duty is that I filled a big orange shopping bag with paper waste, and a lot more with confidential information ripped-up for disposal. Have also put quite a lot of bric-a-brac in the car for the charity shop. A4 paper has been donated to a friend, as I no longer have a printer. My aim is to get all necessary filing into a single concertina binder rather than a couple of lever-arch ones. I found many, many manuals for machines long since departed, and won't keep any more, as they are all online anyway. The trouble is that this doesn't look any better yet, worse in fact, as the table is covered with stuff. A bit like my poor garden.

    Have a good day clutter-busters
  • Mrs Salad Dodger - thanks for the welcome - and your right seeing other peoples lists is definitely spurring me on and reminding me what I have hidden about the place that I really don't need :)

retiredinfrance - What a good idea to post in 10s! Easier to remember where we are, and makes us find those extra items :money:

Molillie - Just remember it has to get worse before it can get better ;)

I'm home all day today so leaving this open and adding to the list as I go. I've decided to be ruthless on the make up today! I use the same few items all the time yet have boxes and bags full! Some of it is way too old to be safe to use, other I just don't like so the majority is going out the door today!

11 - Box from car clean out sorted - binned/filed and recycled the box :)
12- Mascaras - Old and no longer used - 5 bin
    13 - Eyeshadows - no longer used - 2 bin
14 - Unused make up returned to stock box - 5
    15 - Face products - 3 - bin
    16 - Body lotion - 3 - bin
    17 - Lipstick - 4 - bin
18 - box of craft supplies - CS
19 - returned 2 gift boxes to my mum
20 - Gave my friend a huuuge pile of fruit and herbal teas
    21 - hair products - 3 - bin
22 - board game - bought to steal dice and counters - bin
    23 - old sun cream - bin
    24 - 2nd car box sorted - mostly bin >.<
    25 - broken headphones - bin
26 - car stuff returned to car
    27 - squished wrapping paper - bin
    28 - spare glasses cases - bin
    29 - tatty kindle case - bin
30 - pennies to penny jar - a silly one but it got me to 30 before lunch and got rid of the pile of pennies on my desk

Thanks MrsSD, I had to find my previous post to try and understand why you thought I was worthy of a pub lunch or afternoon tea. Get it now but unfortunately, although the clutter was mine the upgrade belonged to someone else!

37/52 - yet another spare remote and batteries recycled, and 3 bags of plasterboard gubbins to the tip.
  • Thanks Mrs SD 352 it is. That was so kind of you to go hunting for the total and for reminding me of the 365 as I slowly near my target. I am collecting up for a 352-365 finale.
Thanks also to Pixielottie for your support.
The best bit of decluttering I did was to get OOD food out and to run down stocks so I can now see at a glance what we have to eat and I know I am saving money at the SM.
