I've asked DD before she goes back off to uni and we do a drop off at the CS to sort out any clothes and bits that she doesn't want to save them just being dumped and left all over the place after she is back at uni and I have to tidy them up and find a home for them......i.e. dump them in her room!!!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi Mrs Salad Dodger and everyone else on here!
I have been reading your lovely thread from the beginning whilst I was on holiday and I’d like to join your happy band. I have a few things I took on holiday and didn’t love so I’m starting with them today now I’m back. My pro-rata target for the rest of the year is 630 - I don’t know if this is possible but will be delighted if I can say I’ve run out of stuff to get rid of before 2018 ends! I won’t count day to day items that I would have got rid of easily anyway, only those items I am hoofing out of the door that would have stayed.

Thanks Molillie. I like to keep going, even if I do only one thing a day. Life had taught me a few lessons.
I was just popping in to mention a tower computer, monitor and associated bits were passed on to DiL today. Another space on the hallway :j There is one more computer to go and that is DD which will be leaving next week along with a truckload of other stuff as she heads back to uni.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Over the last few years, with decluttering efforts around the household,we have managed to empty alot of plastic boxes. They are kept in the loft, but I have always wanted to get rid of them.My hoarder partner wants to hold onto them "just in case"
.
Well, recently one of my customers (cleaning/decluttering business) has been given only weeks to live.I have worked for them for 4 years (been friends with their son and daughter-in-law for about 8years),annd in that time we have been very good friends.Anyway, the last week has been a whirlwind helping them with a few things around the house.Today we were making space in their downstairs living area, which has always been in a muddle, since they have been renovating the house, room by room, for 4 years.Today, myself, son and daughter-in-law were helping declutter/tidy.I took along plastic boxes from the loft to be used for storage.I don't envisage I will be getting these back anytime soon,so am adding them to my list:
207-221:15 plastic boxes with lids ( could have counted as 30 items,I guess)

1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)
3. THE LAST WASHING UP OF THE DAY WILL BE PUT AWAY BEFORE I GO TO BED
marmiterules, well done on the paperwork :T I am sure it hides :rotfl: & I agree with Guineapigsqueaks - it breeds :rotfl: Your numbers must be quite high now& all that space you are creating :T
Happy Kitties, hope your DD is a good girl :rotfl:
:hello: Wanna Bee Free, welcome to our happy band of declutterers :T
bit by bit, did you weigh them a la basketcase :rotfl:
DH didn’t get out to the shed todayHe spent his time tidying the garage & doing some motorbike maintenance.
My ‘project’ today was to declutter food & baking stores :rotfl: - made a Lincolnshire Plum Bread & an Austrian meatloaf - recipes courtesy of the Ha*ry B*kers, plus hm Austrian potato saladSpent nearly as much time washing up & putting away as baking/cooking :rotfl: The meatloaf was delicious but DSis was not a fan
However that is not a problem as it means DH & I have tomorrow’s dinner :rotfl: - I have fried some chicken for DSis
Re my three mantras: aired & made bed; washed up lots :rotfl:; worktops washed down; filled sugar bowl, tea bag & coffee jars; general tidying
The day to day decluttering generated
C577 - C583 Non recyclable - 2 plastic trays & packaging, 4 plastic bags, plastic pot & lid - Binned
C584 - C589 Tin can, 2 milk cartons, glass bottle, small glass jar & metal lid - Rinsed & recycled
C590 - C593 Magazine read, toilet roll tube, cardboard packaging, paper packaging - Recycled
DH is taking DSis to the hospital for an MRI on Sunday @ 8:00 a.m. She has been miserable since 8:00 p.m. as no caffeinefor 12 hours prior to her scan
Sunday, I need to do some housework, write a menu plan for next week & actually make a decision on a proper decluttering project :rotfl:
May your decluttering mojo continue to be strong :rotfl:

Mrs Salad Dodger I have had numerous MRIs in my time, but it's the first time I have heard of having to avoid caffeine for twelve hours.
The guy is coming back today to pick up the last of the books, but unless he brings someone else to help, I think he'll need two trips.0 -
Good Morning,
Hi Marmiterulesok and Mrs Salad Dodger, thanks for the warm welcome!
1 CS book, read and returned

5/630 - off the starting blocks!0 -
Welcome, Wanna be free, and it sounds a good idea to get rid of clothes that you are aware you've been passing over. They are the sort of things that would usually suit someone else.
Mrs SD, I hope it goes well with your sister, and she gets a good coffee shortly afterwards.
Saver Upper, sorry to hear the news about your friends, glad that you are able to visit and help.
Today I am going to go for a swim, as part of my personal decluttering, apart from the exercise, it seems to clear my mind. After that I'm going to visit my friend with the broken shoulder, who is back at home now, with carers coming in for personal care. She has requested no flowers or chocolate, so I might get her a few little ready made salads, as she usually makes one every day.
I want to plan my afternoon and evening too, so that I can be organised for the week, and set-up before the tree surgeon returns tomorrow. I won't be able to stay home, but can be in until mid-morning. When I get back from my friend's today, I'll sit and plan for ten minutes, as this does keep me on track. also, adding timings for doing things, so that I don't get too bogged down.0
