Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Bright sunshine here but jolly cold, OH has just been to the village for the TV choice and to get his pocket money from the P.O.
Feeling a bit more human, get tired quite quickly but suppose thats normal, am also finding I get hungry at weird times.
A big clutter clearout being considered.......I would like to re-home the dresser in the sitting room, but its not going to be easy. There are two drawers in it, the stuff that's in those two drawers I have no where else to put it.
I do plan to down size my crystal though, it may well go back to the charity shop I bought it from in the first place. I would also like to get the crockery into the kitchen.....I have an idea but do not know if its feasible. Will have to try it and see.
Supper tonight shepherds pie and veg.0 -
Hello all,
I fell asleep about 3am and was woken by the HT at 6am. I've been out to collect a parcel but the sorting office seems to have shut early today (I was there before the 10:30am closing time but everything was already locked up) and checked in on my cousin who had the fall before Christmas to see if she needed anything fetching. I stopped there for a coffee. Just going to put braising steak on - it's one of the HT's favourites and always reminds me of my gran as it's a meal that we only ever ate at her house.
FBO thinking of you and your family.
Take care all of you0 -

I agree too as the suspense is awful and it is a horrible decision to have to make.
Youngest dd has gone out with a friend and I have a couple of beds to change upstairs. I also have a trundle bed to manouvre under the day bed out of the way. Youngest was going to help me but forgot.
I need to change my superking but will see how I feel after wrestling with the beds upstairs. A delivery is due at three and a friend of dds is calling in to pick up something so I need to stay downstairs so I don't miss them.
I spent the last two days trying to log in to online banking with no luck yet the main site says everything is normal. If it were not for the fact that a forum says other people are having the exact same problem I would be getting worried. You would think that if they close down the only actual branch in a town that they would make sure there was a usable online site.
Family are coming round tomorrow so looking out a recipe for enchiladas and will need to pop out for a couple of ingredients later.
They are staying overnight to see in the new year with me which is sweet so might make mini sausage rolls and blinis in the evening.
Roll on the new year and getting back to normal.
Neighbour has very kindly knocked on the door to let me know the recycling is collected today. DDs managed to disconnect the sticker on the bin so I did not know the arrangements over this week. Quick foray in the rain and slippers and bins are now out. Washing machine is switched on and having an hour with my feet up in peace and quiet.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Hello all
Had a good sleep last night but woke up with a headache, must have slept too heavily. Ditto ScarletR bad sleep on Thursday
Well my hug bucket was almost empty last night but has magically refilled this morning. There are so many of you having problems of some sort or another at the moment, I just wish I could give them out in person.
I have sorted the ironingfrom non ironing
and I only have 4 T shirts and 2 pairs of trousers to do, so I'm happy to leave them get acquainted in the basket for a while longer:rotfl:.The halogen oven has had a clean and the bowl is in the DW, which is churning away.
I shall have a snack for lunch, still plenty of cheese and crackers left and DD has asked us down to hers this afternoon, for a takeaway tea. Looking forward to that and no cooking again today, so it's a win - win all round :j.
Someone put a cs bag through this morning so I shall try to fill it, goodness knows there's plenty here that I don't use/need anymore. I have started with 4 glasses. I will have a look in the towel cupboard and the airing cupboard after lunch, there is bound to be something there that can go.
FBO thinking of you and your cousin's family today.
Csarina I hope your DH didn't spend all his pocket money in the sweet shop on the way home :rotfl:
LaineyTJust when LuLu has settled. We are also waiting for that sort of news with our caravan storage, as the farm we keep it on has been bought by an estate and they are putting in a tennant.
Nelski glad you had a good time. Will your monster turkey in the freezer become the elephant in the room at some point :rotfl:
Hope everyone is having a goodish day. Hug bucket at the ready if not. Take care all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Good Morning friends old and new. Nice to see many old faces still around. I got a 10 year badge from MSE in November, so it means some of us have been friends for that amount of time!! Frightening how time is flying so fast now. Still in touch with some of our Old Style Friend via FB too.
Life still very good for us, we have an 18 month old Granddaughter, who is obviously gorgeous and a Rescue Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to join Skye. Her name is Poppy, and she is a real live wire. We are. "Professional Holidaymakers", enjoying doing what we can while we can. I had a new knee a couple of years ago, and that is working well. We have lost a few friends over the year together with DGuys brother, some at a very young age.
I'll close now with my usually (((Hugs))), Spoons & positive vibes all round, and ask you to please send some to an old member on here Anniestar, who her and her lovely hubby Mark are going through the wars a bit at the moment.
Hoping that 2018 brings lots of things you are hoping for. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Positive vibes to Anniestar and DH and fingers and toes crossed.
I have changed a double bed and two single beds upstairs and decided I am not strong enough to move the day bed and trundle bed so it can wait till tomorrow when family are round.
Recycling has been collected and grocery delivery has arrived and been unpacked. Washing machine and tumble drier are on and a pot of home made soup is on the hob for later.
Youngest has just arrived back with a friend so I am in my bedroom on the laptop and bobbing back to the kitchen to keep an eye on the soup etc.
Tomorrow will be busy as there will be six of us seeing in the New year and three or four staying overnight. Must remember to defrost the pastry so I can make sausage rolls or quiche in the evening.
Have a happy new year and a good 2018.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

I'm home! :j:j
Sorry to have missed seeing you FBO! After all I didn't go into town, just phoned to cancel the order and then re-ordered for delivery. It would have taken me far too long. So, I whizzed round W aitrose for DM and then shot off home only stopping at Helensburgh for my own shopping.
In 2015 my beloved nephew spent three days in an induced coma, no brain activity so the machine was turned off. It's a kindness, so I hope your beloved cousin experiences the same kindness FBO.
Duvet covers I can deal with, inside out, two corners then whip it over the top. Pillow cases just seem to stick to the pillows, it's a real wrestle. Anyway, I've changed the bedding on the spare bed at DM's and brought the dirty stuff home to wash. DM can't cope with the double sheet and duvet cover. They are now all chugging away in the machine.
I've filled the bird feeders as the wee things had formed an orderly queue at the window waiting for food. My bags are unpacked, cup of tea made and slippers on.
I'm scattering good vibes all over the laptop, hopefully some will reach all those who want or need some.0 -
Pillow cases I find easy enough. I turn them inside out, grab the bottom corners of the pillow through the corners of the pillowcase and pull the pillowcase over it. The fitted sheet I manage, just the duvet cover....oh and I had to find out the hard way that a king size duvet and cover isnt square like a double.
Shopping all bought and put away and im having a bit of a rest before preparing tea. Tea will be a sort of 'anything goes' sort of tea. Ive got lots of bits and pieces to use up.
Lovely to see our returners....Donny-gal give that lovely Skye and her new Sister Poppy a kiss from me.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I found that out the hard way with a superking and it drives me nuts!!!
Gers
I use the same system with the duvet cover. There is supposed to be a way of rolling it up inside the cover but I can't seem to work it out.
Youngest dd has offered to tidy for me tonight as she is going out shopping tomorrow and it looks as if everyone is coming round later in the day and staying over rather than for lunch.
It also looks as if I am cooking on Monday at lunchtime as well but not sure for how many. Tomorrow is enchiladas, garlic bread and salad and Monday might be marinated chicken drumsticks with roast potatoes and lots of veg.
I am all cooked out!!!!!"This site is addictive!"

Just want to add...I hate changing pillow cases
Now, I feel better :rotfl:Hard_Up_Hester wrote: »Pillow cases I can cope with, it's the duvet cover that leaves me needing CPR, it's king size and there is nowhere on the boat where I can shake it out.
For that's what we were doing today; Mr LW has a wonderful (!) system of flipping it side-to-side one time, and end-to-end the next. And today was end-to-end.:eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
