Good to see you feeling more positive. We all have ups and downs but nice to see you on an up
So pleased the job group at the library went well and you got a good vibe there.
The sofas have served you well but Mrs P is right to suggest waiting as they are an expensive purchase and you have time to look out for a bargain.
Gigervamp your 'to the point' advice always makes me smileIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Great advice as always gigervamp .
However it has to be leather:o:eek:. Another hindsight moment is that , If I bought a leather recliner instead of fabric , then now I'd only need a fabric sofa . I've done things back to front I guess .
Still, last thing I need . Worse things in life .0 -
Yay AC glad you got to workclub! Another one here who is happy to hear you sounding a bit more positive!0

More news ..
Saw mr trainer on weds . As soon as he saw me , he said I lost weight
The next thing I know, he films me doing bench press ups and I'm on Facebook . " this guy walks through walls ." Looking at myself , I do think there's a way to go to lose that 3 stones I need to . Then again , the walking gas balloon is almost deflated . I just have to carry on .
It's funny really , there will be key people in your life who you stumble upon under various circumstances and acknowledging that and trying to keep them if possible is a must .
Mr trainer and James have been godsends really . Years ago around 2004 -2006 when I was in my last great job , I used to see an instructor in a well known gym in Holborn ( best part of London to work imho) and through weights, Pilates and yoga I lost 4 stone in a year. In 2006 I knew it was gonna end unfortunately and my life began crashing down for about 10 years .
Since being here , mr trainer and James have been a massive help to me. Although James is a reputable tradesman who made a few excuses here and there like they all do, I was laid back and relaxed about him which meant he did good jobs for me and also charged a lot less last week for the jobs he did, as he knows I'm struggling a bit .
Speaking of James, I sent text to confirm I paid into his account today and asked him if he knew anybody who could help with a new boiler etc
He said he'd ask around which may or may not be a good move .
Looking back over Monday with the emergency guy who condemned my boiler . He never got back to me with a quote via email as promised . He did quote northwards of £2,500 . He says the pipes and system need cleaning out as well as cost to fit boiler etc
His co ( who are local and have great feedback ) ,only do Worcester boilers which are expensive but like vailant boilers are among the best quality . Having said all of that , the hot water and pressure are great ..for now! He doesn't think it'll last and that I'm better off getting a new boiler before the winter kicks in. One of my friends thinks it's sales talk . Then again, since I've been here I've had issues from day one
In the end , I'm gonna need a boiler with a long guarantee and hopefully good quote for fitting etc .
Tomorrow , I have a social gathering of sorts ...in Poole
There will be 5 of us this time . I'm putting up my friend from South Shields and friend from Farnham up for the evening . The new chair beds will hopefully be adequate . It'll be like Ernie and Bert from Sesame Street . The place is tidy as it could be .
I've been mad on kettle chips of late . That's gone now after seeing that video clip of myself yesterday . Now replaced by.. dry special k
Worth a try I guess ..:o0 -
Your personal trainer sounds amazing as does your handyman.
Ouch to a new boiler.
Have a lovely time in Poole x0 -
AC go for minimum 5 year warranty on boiler, preferably more, say 7 or 10 years. Read up on expensive power flushes before you go that route, and consider where the dirty water is coming from - for instance, is it that the rads are old and corroded internally which could be an ongoing issue.0

Hi AC, I have a Worchester boiler. It had a 10 year warranty and it went in 7/8 years ago. Never had an issue with it (touch wood) so I recommend it.

a couple of points - apologies if they are out of date, as i tend to only read once a week when i have a couple hours spare.
the baggy jeans, best thing i ever bought was an infinity belt, they dont have holes like older ones etc, and are called things like "tactical belts" on amazon, they clip and then you slide to the size, so infinitely adjustable up to a point of course, this has helped me when i have lost weight, as i was "between holes" on old leather belts.
re boiler - when you get one fitted ask about a magnaclean or something similar, its an in line metal filter which cleans like a petrol / oil one would in a car, they are around £50 but an installer may charge more of course, but its worth it, as it will clean as it runs etc, as i say like a cars oil / petrol filter would.
they can also be cleaned and replaced0 -
Thanks everyone .
Saw mr trainer on Monday . He is letting me go back to his gym tomorrow to train solo . Great session again .
I got refused ltd capability for work again at the "mandatory reconsideration " stage . They explained their basic reasons for why I was refused , such as getting a pen out of my blazer inside pocket if I was wearing one . Naturally the system is designed to kill me off and get rid of me . The next stage , is finally going to court if I decide to do so. I'm mulling it over . Surely I have ltd capability to work if I'm only properly functional at ltd times . As mentioned before, I'm not refusing employment . If they send me somewhere / anywhere , I'll just keep going back to the job centre through no fault of my own if it doesn't work out .
Yesterday I decided to go to the job club again for the second time .
I knew someone different would be overseeing things , and I saw Rachel yesterday and not Ben who is normally always there .
Luckily, enough seeing as I got there early Rachel gave me her undivided attention and polished up my cv which took most of her time up. Condensing it down to one page ( except the cover letter),was impressive and not as impossible as I thought . Even things such as my full name ( yet another casualty ) , date of birth and address are altered due to data protection and age discrimination . Any potential employer would still guess my age though . Still it's done and I need a load of luck to find something in the not too distant future.
It is a little impersonal in the job club tho if you want to keep things to yourself . It's obvious that the others know so much about me.
I feel for 2 other guys . One had a brain haemorrhage and you'd never know . The other chap came quite late to the job club and cannot read or write or use a computer . He seems to be good at warehouse work . I'll be going there again next week. What will be interesting is that the job coach from the job centre will be giving me a phone interview about 15 mins before the job club starts .
It'll be interesting to know what he has to say .
I'm typing this and my eyes are cloudy . Not in the best form today , but I know that I have to make things happen . I've started with the job club . I have been looking for suitable work. I'm going to look for a band probably after Christmas so that's a start .
As I was coming out of my flat today I saw the gardeners.
I had to ask them not to cut anything as everything is fine for now.
They don't seem a bad bunch. The head guy came over and said someone complained about gardening not being done .
It wasn't me . I only mentioned back in sept that they forgot to cut my plants in aug bank holiday like they usually do.
The managing agents have merged and they are not on the ball as vey were .
At the moment my boiler is working great . I don't want to jinx it
However , Iooked at boiler grants as I'm on universal credit .Doubt if I'd get it . So I did a bit of digging on the website .
There's a company called heatable and they seem to sell boilers at reasonable prices . They don't use Worcester , but do use Weismann who are rated by which . Prices include magniclean and long extended warranties . I'll have another look around but they seem good .
I have to tidy flat again due to boiler getting fixed last time and stuff being moved everywhere . Might not be today tho0 -
Do go to the tribunal, they're the ones who are more likely to overturn the DWP's decision, and you can explain how your illness affects you. Also, get advice from a benefits advisor!0
