  • So, I'm up earlier today . Had an almost normal breakfast of peanut butter and toast with black coffee. Will try to make that the last of the bread for a while , as I had 2 home made plain burgers yesterday as my first proper meal since Sunday . It was sunny this morning but not now . I have to do food shopping . Actually , it's just started to rain..

Again it took me a while to sleep but I had a good one .
Mr trainer got back to me yesterday , and I will be seeing him tomorrow . Obviously still have the flu, but I need to keep motivated

I got mixed messages from the seller of the picture frame via amazon
One minute I'm getting a refund . Then this morning I'm being sent a replacement . I told them via email I just want a refund and not a replacement . I value my fingers too much. The emails are in broken English . The company are based in Glasgow . They never called me jimmy tho .

The kids upstairs are being a bit too noisy after 9pm. Running up and down stairs , slamming door sometimes . I heard a baby scream once.
I'll have to weigh things up before I complain ( or not). They have to realise it's not just their house . I'll see.
I have to tidy up today and get back on track, hopefully .
I'll go through those emails probably this afternoon . If a position for an astronaut is there I'll apply for that , as I'm still spaced out..
  • Bizarre situation : I received a call from Vodafone regarding my broadband . During the call my door intercom rang .
I was asked if they could speak to Zoe . I told them that she was a tenant here before I purchased this flat about 2 years ago.
I noticed a couple of police cars hovering around my flat . It is obvious that these are debt collectors . They asked for my name , but I politely declined to give it .
Back to the call from Vodafone : my tariff will be £21 pm instead of the £25 pm I am paying now . I could have had a faster broadband ,but to be honest when the last chap came and fixed the last fault I had he said that I have a very good signal anyway . Plus of course all of this talk of faster speeds is a marketing gimmick imho.
I did tell the nice lady that they are better than Bt .

Hey AC how are you doing? Hopefully you're recovered from your flu now?

So what plans do you have for your job search this week? You need to get back on with it, searching and keeping those applications going.

Get a couple of applications fired off soon then you will be back into a rhythm and can relax a bit :)

Hi AC just wondered if you'd considered going to your local job club? I found the link:

    Poole job club

I think it would help you with your job search motivation. Most job clubs are drop ins so you don't usually have to commit to going every week.

    Thanks for that moo :)
I have bookmarked that page and will look into that .
  • So , where am I ?
Saw mr. Trainer on Friday complete with flu . Got there, did it .
Sunday was interesting . Had a group of four of us out for the day .
The plan was for 5 of us to meet up, have some food in a pub and watch a gig in boscombe . One of my friends had to change at last minute . The chap who organised it ( and had the gig tkts), was almost 2 hours late coming from Farnham due to severe weather conditions , trees on the line etc. He was the chap that stayed over.
I still had the flu .

Yesterday morning , we met up with the friend that is local to me and we had a coffee before he went to work/ my friend went home/ and me to see mr trainer once again . I actually just literally made it to the gym on time , getting the train from parkstone and off at branksome .

Today I went through all of my emails from the job websites . I saved 3 jobs and will look at those more closely this afternoon / evening .
My left eye is very tired today ,and looking at my computer was a strain and uncomfortable .

Tomorrow I have an appt with Mrs. Doctor and have to request a 'fit note' for universal credit . I have been getting some great help and advice from mr trainer as to what to do and expect etc.
I am in unchartered waters now and I have to keep my momentum and spirit up .

There is one ( hopefully ) positive turn of events . I have stopped taking prednisolone on Saturday 4th March .
While I am still moon faced and overweight , I would imagine that a lot of this excess will fall off by this time next year .
Something to look forward to I guess .

Me and my husband visit Boscombe when we stay in Swanage. There's a retro games shop near The Works in the shopping centre, that he goes to. He's got to know the guys that own it, so they save old games and computers (when games were on floppy disks or tapes) for him, as we go down there a couple of times a year. We make a day trip of it!

I hope that stopping the pred helps with your weight loss.
  • Okay, I've just been to see Mrs Dr.
She could see I've lost weight ,and seems pleased the way it's all going . Having said all of that, I am now signed off unfit for work for 6 months . Long story . It will take at least another 6 months for the moon face and excessive weight put on by the prednisolone .
However, it will hopefully keep money coming into my account and hopefully lsome breathing space . It will also give universal credit a chance to maybe find something suitable for me because of my condition . I know and knew nothing will be easy about this life changing experience of mine . Only signed on once in all of my years .
This is all alien to me . What's next? Who knows ...

Apart from that it is a lovely windy , but dry day .

I'm not sure how ESA and Universal Credit works now, but if ESA is still the same, you'll have to go for an assessment, where they decide if you go into the back to work group, or the support group. They might decide you don't qualify, and send you back to the job centre.
If that happens, you really need to speak to a welfare advisor.
  • Thanks gigervamp .
I'll be looking into this this evening . I imagine that I'll have to go to a work assessment . Will let you know . I would imagine ltd capability for work is what would be the best outcome . That means I'm not refusing and will hopefully find something that fits eventually .
    We'll see..
