I've just reported a fit note on the universal credit website . It seems very straight forward putting the dates from and to. You then give your doctors address and telephone no which is optional.
You then press the button to either giving them permission to speak to your doctor about the condition or you refuse. I of course agreed , as I expect to be probed much further when the assess me about my ltd capability to work which I think is the best way forward.
I have all of my medical life story scanned and waiting for them .
I am going to try and stay calm and ignore the stories you hear in the press and be as open minded as possible . At the end of the day , if I can get 3-4 hours work a day Mon - Friday mid morning then everyone should be happy ,or as near as.
I cannot believe how quickly this month and year seems to be going once again . I have to take copies of bank stements to the council tax office . Tomorrow , or Monday at the latest .
Next week I have to pay my six monthly service charge .. ouch!
I think mrs dr was impressed that I've been living off of my savings over the last 2 and a half years .
Anyway, I'd better give my flat a good tidy up !0 -
Well, I was about to provide proof to Poole council this morning and realised that you have to book an appointment .
The lady was very accommodating when I phoned ,and I actually went to see them at 2.15 this afternoon . The appointment was for 2.30 but they photocopied my documents straight away .
So far so good . I've done everything for now . Fingers crossed etc.
I received a letter from endlsleigh insurance advising me of the cost of home contents if I stay with them another year. Up for renewal on 31st March . Gone up from £99.02 to..£300.64 ! That is the end of endsleigh :rotfl: The ironic thing is that last year I paid an extra £20 and they scrapped the admin fees . So much for loyalty .
I will be going with admiral and will be paying a lot less for their platinum service . My choice for an extra few quid for the year .
I will be paying £87.34 . If I took the basic without legal advice and other things ,it would be less than that £65.90.
This morning I received a reminder from Jc gas advising me of my next survice due . £70.00 inc vat . If I want a Honeywell carbon monoxide alarm fitted that would cost £26.00 inc vat .
Just a reminder about that boiler and Jc in particular :
When I looked at the flat ,mr surveyor was alarmed about the boiler being under the window of the small bedroom .Remember the gas room ? So, I found Jc gas . The engineer came out , checked it over and said not to worry . Fair enough .
Last year ,chap from Jc gas serviced it . I needed a couple of parts .
Fair enough. When I asked him the life span roughly , he wasn't very forthcoming . " it might last a long time , it might not " etc.
So then I found Reactive which we all know about .
I have a co2 detector and the boiler was serviced last month .
So no need until next Feb for another service ,fingers crossed .0 -
Hey AC. looks like you are doing well on many fronts - health, fitness, money, job-hunting (or at least registering). Lots of these things can be a right, royal PITA, so well done for persevering.
I have no loyalty anymore (to businesses that is, very loyal to good friends and family), and check every renewal for cheaper alternatives. I get quite cross when I ring companies about their increased renewal price and they immediately reduce it - sometimes by quite a lot of money. Makes me feel they are ripping me off and I tell everyone I know to hunt for best prices. Sadly some won't - either through loyalty or CBA - but then there's no helping some people.
Anyway - keep up the good work AC - all the best!0 -

Alfie's not too bad. He doesn't move around too much these days, and occasionally I have to poke him to make sure he is still breathing. He is 15 soon and being a big cat (a beautiful big ginger tom) he definitely has arthritis so I have put a box next to the bed so he can climb up instead of jumping. Spoilt cat, or what? In his younger days he used to clear off for a few days at a time so he has had some adventures, I'm sure. I wish he would stop snoring as it is quite loud and if I wake up in the middle of the night I sometimes think there is a person in the room heavy breathing. Although when he doesn't snore, that's when I think he has died. When I stay with my youngest she tells me that I snore quite loudly (although I'm sure I am far too ladylike to snore), and I also have arthritis, so maybe we are just copying each other. I've also had a few adventures as well, and hope to have a few more.0 -
Great to hear Alfie is still in charge
So, weird feelings at the moment . Another lousy nights sleep. Also feeling very hungry over the weekend . Plus my thoughts are at times worrying , as reality is here . Maybe this is all part of the actual stoppage of prednisolone altogether since 9 days ago. I've had it in my system for over 5 years , so maybe it's taking its time draining out of my system - hopefully forever .
Mr trainer rescheduled today's appointment for weds . Fine of course.
I had a reality check last week that I need to be a lot more thorough in the flat , and actually let go of stuff . I'm in the middle of a possible restructure . I do love the front room . Not sure if I actually still need 2 sofas in there . Could probably get a sofa bed for guests , not that I have that many . Could put the computer in the front room in its place
Many thoughts .
I have a few bass guitars as we all know . The thing is, how many hands have I got ? I seem to be holding onto nostalgia and as I'm not doing much have decided to list 2
As the market is slow in selling terms , I can just leave them and see what gives . I should get over£1,000 which would tide me over and potentially cover cost of storage and sofa bed should I go down that route .
I'm just about to have an early 'lunch' to mull it over ..:o0 -
It makes sense to sell some of your basses, it's not as if you're in a band gigging every week, where having more than one would be needed. And you need the money.0

Well said gigervamp
I'm not playing the royal Albert hall . Having said that , I'm not even playing in the hallway
I'm having 'fun' trying to decide what's best for the flat overall at the moment . Not as strong as I was . Hopefully I'll have the solution in a couple of hours .0 -
Hey AC, well done again on getting yourself so organised and organising meetings etc for your Universal Credit.
I'm the same as you with holding onto things for nostalgic reasons. Definitely good to be rid of things and have that clearer living space, and therefore clearer head.
I'll look out for you on the Royal Albert Hall site!0 -

It can be a bit of a fine line when binning stuff. Trying to keep my own character while not making the place too clinical for the sake of practicality is the key . Yes. A clear head = clear mind .0
