  • Art materials sounds cool gigervamp . :)
I'll order stuff for sat delivery to my recipients . Won't be doing Thorntons again though ...they are useless .

My Christmas / birthday present to myself which I got on Black Friday hasn't been used much ..although I just had a couple of hours on it now :rotfl:
It's a Moog grandmother synthesiser :p not sure about the name tbh ,but it is fun and uncomplicated ,which is very surprising .
Just have to make sure I don't drink any hoegaarden when I'm using it on Christmas Day :o

When I was a teenager, (late 70s) I really wanted a synth, but all those knobs and dials were very intimidating (plus they weren't cheap!).

Have fun, but try not to annoy the neighbours!
  • Thanks gigervamp :)
Yes, they were expensive back in the day . Then they couldn't give them away , and bargains were had . Now those '80s ones are sought after and expensive to buy .
This one I got , is a bit marmitey for some . Easy to use, and very different and bright :) Thankfully , I had the funds to pay for it .

Got a call from Skipton bldg society last week saying that the head office wanted more proof of my signature . I asked them back in November if they wanted to check any I d when I asked for funds to be transferrred to my account on 29th of this month . They messed up. Fair enough , I thought I'd bring my passport and pay them a visit
A good excuse to meet my friend for a liquid lunch also :D
But this morning .. I could not find the blasted passport ! I have 3 in total . Eventually I found it . It took me over 2 hours to find it .
I think that all the I d for that post office job threw me a little bit and I was dragged from pillar to post just registering with them . Still, it's done now . Place is a bit of a tip..

My friend is coming on sat to dismantle and move wardrobe into the main bedrooom from the gas room . Fingers crossed it all goes well
It means in theory that , the gas room will be a proper music room and all my storage woes should be over . I'll probably have to get another desk though to accommodate my musical stuff .
I told my friend I will see him on Boxing Day this year and not Christmas Day , although I still have to get presents for his family and him . He invited me to Bournemouth for a drink on Christmas Eve in the afternoon also .

So, tomorrow no gym , but I have to empty rooms out and the living room willl be a mess until Saturday after wardrobe is fitted . I have to do food shopping tomorrow also . Busy day .

One thing to remember : always know where your passport and birth certificate are ! ! Saves a lot of frustration :rotfl:
  • Haha. Makes me laugh you have a desk for music stuff but no special place for passport and birth certificate. Ideally it should be fire resistant container (metal). Enjoy your synthesiser and have a great christmas

Happy Christmas - hope next year is as good.
Aiming to make £7,500 online in 2022
  • Well, a mixed bag of sorts . So glad Christmas is out of the way now .
Where do I start? Last Saturday , would probably be the best place .
My friend finally sorted my wardrobe out . My bedroom looks a lot better for it . Annoyingly for me , it means that the proper music room is now a tip . Why ? It's down to the fact I felt slightly drained and decided to leave it till Christmas Eve . On top of that, my wardrobe is full . I need a place to put my bedding for guests etc apart from the obvious place . Plus of course , on Christmas Eve, we had a few Guinness 's . More than planned .
So, we come to Christmas ..and the turkey . Instead of putting it at the bottom of the fridge , I left it by the sink to thaw. Very bad..and dangerous ! So, into the bin it went . I got through the day , but could not sleep at bedtime ,and was awake for hours . That's down to the prednisolone withdrawal . It also makes you miserable . I've never been the depressive type, and those who are have my utmost sympathy . I feel better now . So, onto yesterday and today ...

I had a much better sleep last night . This morning I felt fine and dandy. I had an appointment today with mr. Trainer. Before that though, I asked reception at the gym about this text message I received telling me that I can get 3 months half price if I rejoin . I was half expecting to be told it doesn't apply to me , and it doesn't as I have a rolling contract . I did tell them I would contact head office, but it's not really worth bothering about . The difference in cost of paying on the day and pay monthly etc I'm probably better off leaving it as it is .i did tell them it's crap though . I must ignore general messages in the future .
Anyway , it was hard today , and surprisingly mr. Trainer is still impressed .

I received the letter today from mr. Specialist at st. Thomas's and in it he says I am looking very well . He mentioned that I am seeing mr. Trainer and this has been very effective . He has given me the green light to reduce my prednisolone further to 1 mg from 1.5 after Christmas . So I will do that on 1st jan . January the month where I have to go to ds s or whatever they call it . I have a lot to think about and it's playing on my mind . I will sort out some sort of letter in preparation and may have to see a doctor to see where I stand .

I will tackle the music room later on today and actually use it within the next day or so . I need to get a couple of trunks / benches / ottomans to store stuff ,then the flat is hopefully finally sorted.

I was going to contact reactive , the boiler people who I took out a monthly contract with tomorrow . Not really worth doing till jan 2nd when the engineers are back from their Christmas break .

So, the sales are still going on. I only need to get a couple of frying pans , and some crockery . I destroyed 2 this year .

Next year, if this weight finally comes off means I have plenty of clothes that I bought when I first came here and if I fit into them I won't have to buy any next year ,and will need stuff taken in instead. Fingers crossed.

Anyway, thanks for reading this far to all who know me and lurkers also . Happy new year to all :)

Regarding the DWP, you'll need to go to the job centre to sign up. You'll be put on Universal Credit and will have to job hunt (and show proof of it). If you're not fit to work, you would need to claim ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) and have an assessment to see if you qualify. To fill in the ESA forms, it's best to see a disability benefits advisor, as they'll know the best way to word things on the forms. You can find out more information online.
