Well, I am back from an awful night .
The main problem for me is getting home . If I was able to do normal hours, I would've stuck it out . However, trying to find my way out of an industrial estate and then get 2 buses ,it was and is too much of an impossible task . I ended up getting a cab back from the middle of nowhere .£12. Lucky it was only that.

Now onto the job itself, and the induction : apparently I was supposed to be there at 4.30 and not 5.30 ,but of course I was not given the right information . It happened to one of the other guys also.

So,about half a dozen of us got taken to a room and shown a few films highlighting what we should be doing. We were asked questions, and filled in more forms. However the guy doing the induction was not very good at speaking English , mumbled a bit and not very enthusiastic .
Eventually I got into the main job, an£ got on well with a couple of people ,one guy in particular . At one stage, he said he was going for a 20 min break . I didn't think it was allowed and would be frowned upon as it was my first night . The high vis jacket was large size, but obviously too small for me. Haven't they heard of equal opportunities?

    That's pretty much it

I'll either quit by phone or just not bother turning up ..

Thanks for the well wishes though.

I've just phoned the ' Royal Mail Christmas temps', and spoke to a nice lady . She was very understanding and fully knew what I meant
We had a nice chat , and she gave me the name of another outsource company that Royal Mail use , as I asked if there were other hours etc
Even one of the nice chaps last night told me it was too far.
As I say , the cab fare was£12 . If I got the cab from the depot it would've been approx £18
Wha was also annoying is my left eye was drooping half way , as myasthenia gravis does that when you are tired . Early- mid morning part time is the way to go imho.

So I felt depressed, but it should pass . I will be approaching the agencies probably after Christmas as I have to really have a think about everything . I still get emails from indeed and others on a daily basis , so who knows?
At least I'm more or less ready to be employed somehow .

I've just sent Mr. Trainer a text enquiring whether the Cambridge diet or similar would be suitable .
    I'll leave it there ..

AC, you don't need the Cambridge diet or similar, sounds like you are doing fine. Cambridge is approx £50 a WEEK!!! Just eat healthy at home

Sorry to hear about the job :(

Hi. AC. Sorry to hear about the job. But you're right, it's not for you. Keep looking and something will turn up. Any chance of music related work.......something you would enjoy and something you could really get your teeth into.

Everything's going well here except I've got a stinking cold. :rotfl: so feel a bit woe is me today.

I'm having a new bathroom fitted next week so i have decided to swan off on a cruise round the Canaries and just let my plumber get on with it. I sail on Saturday. Hopefully the worst of my cold will be over by then.

Actually it will do me good to have a rest and get a bit of sun. It's been a busy year and I'm very tired. Need to recharge my batteries......:rotfl:

    Thanks folks .
Anna , I think you're right . I think that if I wasn't on steroids for the mg, everything would have been fine by now .

Enjoy the break LL . The cold hopefully won't be around long .
Neat Jamesons may be a good idea .Hows the house coming along?

Doubt if It'll be a music related job . I'll have to think and see , maybe even claiming benefits in jan . Will probably face the agencies then also. Having said that , I feel better about not having to go to that industrial estate ,as the weather has changed to cold and rain.

The neighbour upstairs has completed her move . I have a feeling it's only a few doors away .

Will be messing about on my musical gift later to cheer me up . It's a combined Black Friday / birthday and xmas present .
Wasn't in the mood earlier .

Had a great sleep last night . That extra duvet seems to have made all the difference . Tonight it will be below freezing . After this the temperature will go up again . This morning is heavy torrential rain ,and heavy winds . Quite the opposite of light rain ,and a moderate breeze listed on the bbc phone app.

On Monday , mr . Trainer trained the legs very hard . Fair enough .
That walk / expedition back to my home was heavy going ,and I felt worn out as well as angry . The legs were like anvils yesterday .That obviously means that the training was beneficial .
I was going to go to the gym today, but rain stopped play :D

Have to find the right time to do food shopping ..

Well , what a different a year makes or even a week . This time last year , I got a couple of items on Black Friday and they were actually bargains . I got my new iMac ,which came with a voucher over £100 which enabled me to get a new external hard drive and cd/dvd drive .
I got Harmon kardon speaker system for my Mac for half price ,just in the nick of time . This time , I don't need to buy anything .
The only things I want , are 2 CDs . One of Jean michel jarre and the remastered cd by Metallica . I'm not going to buy the expensive box set, as you can only listen to the same stuff over and over and Metallica are just too corporate these days.

So, I felt rough this morning and even after 2 nurofen it took a while to get me going . I think it may be the fact that I'm cutting down on the amount of orange juice I've been having . Apparently , that can make you bloated . It's been well over a year since I touched lucozade and thankfully there's no going back , so the only vice other than water has been orange juice ..and 1 black coffee a day . I may get fresh lemons and squeeze the juice into hot water. I'll see.

I went to the gym today and feel much better for doing so . Couldn't do weds due to torrential downpours . Will be seeing mr. Trainer on Monday and will see what's what .

I obviously felt very down after the job not working out on Monday .
However, I've decided to put that negative into a positive and make another reduction in my prednisolone next week from 2mg to 1.5
I was going to do it around Christmas time anyway , so might as well do it now and if I get similar withdrawal symptoms as last time they should finish sooner .

Wow! December already . In a way it's sad that the end of the year is in sight . I have got used to living like a pensioner to an extent , but realise that next year I need to integrate back into the working environment . Part time and early mornings is what would suit me .
If I can pull that off , then the transformation from what it as 2 years ago is not far off from some sort of completion .
I will "sign on", or whatever it is called at the end of January .
Pointless to do it if we have another beast from the east ,and more importantly I am dreading doing so and being treated like crap.
I have thoughts sometimes of selling up altogether , going to a few holidays in the us or Canada and just die over there .

Last Tuesday , I decided to reduce the prednisolone to 1.5 mg
I say 1.5 ,but the tablets are so small and hard to cut that it could well be less than that . If I'm okay by Christmas ,I may just go down to 1 mg . I am due to go to London to see the specialist either next Tuesday or the Tuesday after and see what gives. I had more chance finding lord lucan last time , so hopefully he won't be 5be invisible man this time and actually be there this time .

Saw mr .Trainer again today . He wants to write a letter to the specialist ,and to the dhss when I go there . He is still astounded by my attitude and determination and is very positive for me all the way
At least the specialist at st Thomas's will see that I'm doing everything right in my bid to get as near as normal as possible .

Hardly slept last night . Possibly a side effect from the reduction of prednisolone . Or that I have a lot on my mind .

The "window cleaners " have been a few minutes ago . Obviously don't know what a rag is . I had to run after them as it seemed that me on the ground floor was ignored . I had a feeling that they were gonna hit and run . He made an excuse about doing the upstairs flat at first . I'm not buying that ,as they were at the other end of my flat and around the corner by the main entrance .
When I'm asked questions for the annual meeting , I will mention the windows not being wiped . I will also mention the post being chucked on the floor by the others . If they see pizza flyers and begging letters , it is far easier to put them in your own bin and dispose when ready .

One of the landlords is gutting out his property and will probably be putting it up for sale ASAP . It has been taken off the market again,as nobody looked at it since June . Even after a 5k reduction .
The lady that was there had too much stuff in there and the pics highlighted that. It'll be interesting seeing the final results and how much he expects to get for it .

There will be no power tomorrow during office hours . Some important electrical work has to be carried out .

I got a rebate from council tax , so I thought I'd better pay those cheques in to my bank today . Approx £55 ,not complaining .
As there was supposed to be a power cut , I went to my local hmv and did some food shopping in Poole .
I bought a remastered cd from Metallica . Triple cd etc . For some bizarre reason , it never played on my normal cd . So, I burned it onto my Mac , took it back and exchanged it for the vinyl instead . I actually did something very mse there , as the vinyl does not contain the extra material :)

Got a couple more CDs via fleabay and amazon . Mainly mint condition used CDs that have been remastered by the likes of black sabbath ,Alice in chains and Klaus Schulze . Bizarrely enough when I was really broke , one of my friends used to put mp3s onto a cd and I would burn them onto my Mac . Came in handy at the time . I buy the essential ones that I want to keep from music magpie etc as I'm a lover of animals :)

Power was restored by the time I got back . Had another night of limited sleep . Having said that , if it is a slight problem with the prednisolone reduction then I don't mind . It's a week today since the reduction ,so I'm praying I don't get any side effects like before with the joint pain . I still seem to be walking a lot better these days fingers crossed .

Will be playing with my new musical gadget later :)
