Nice to hear from you again0 -
Great stuff AC :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

That's great! It'll be good to have some money coming in, so you're not eating up your savings.
We had a great week in Swanage, can't believe last week we were going around in t-shirts, yet since we've been back home, we've had to put the heating on! Such a contrast.0 -
Thanks folks
I have to realise though, that I first have to pass the induction on the first day. Also, that it is a job that is probably gonna last only a few weeks if it does work out . One step at a time .
Glad you had a good time in swanage gigervamp .
The temperatures in the day here are still mild . At bedtime however, I know it won't be long before I put the extra quilt on my bed .0 -
Half of our house is made of stone, so when it gets cold, the stone gets really cold. If we've run out of oil and had a couple of days in the winter without heating, once the tank is filled, we have to keep the heating on 24 hours for a couple of days, to warm the stone up. When we got back, although it hadn't been very cold here, the house just felt really cold.
Even though the job's not permanent, it'll get you back into working. You can lose a lot of confidence after a long break not working, not to mention the lack of routine when you don't have to go to work each day. So it'll ease you back in.
Anyway, good luck at the induction.0 -
Hey AC - well done for going for it. As others have said - it will be good to have a bit of structure back in your days without (hopefully) impinging too much on your gym sessions. It may only be "one step at a time" but that's how all journeys are made, be they a slow walk to the corner or a trek across the Arctic.0

De-lurking to say good for you. Hope you have nice people to work with and they are easy to get on with.0

Ditto! Best of luck with it AC.0 -
Thanks again for all of your kind thoughts
There is only one thing that I am a little apprehensive about the job.
The journey . I know ( just.about ) how to get there, etc. There are a few options which vary depending on what time I leave ,according to google maps . However, it will be very dark coming out of there ,and I only know the way to one bus stop on the way back . Clocks go back in a couple of weeks . Where has the time gone ?
So, onto the last few days . Geoffrey Hayes diedUsed to like rainbow .
A few months ago , I did a stupid thing to the soap dispenser in the shower . I put the " ultimate " shower gel in there . It contained some sand type particles in it ,and I ended up breaking the soap dispenser
I managed to track a replacement down, with about a years supply of hand wash as a special offer. However , I don't know how james managed to secure the dispenser so tight . However, I had to remove the fitting as well . Looking at the way it was fitted , I think another hole will have to be drilled into the tile by the bath. My friend has got some masking tape ,and is coming over to assist me .2 heads are better than one in 5his situation I feel :rotfl:
In the bathroom also, a little water is coming through the sealant . A common problem , bit I'll get my friends opinion on that also.
When I was renting from the flat around the corner, the landlady has a small pool of water under the bathroom sink . It was ongoing apparently .
Regarding my last training session ,and my severe joint pain:
On Monday after the session with mr, trainer , things felt good .
I did a 20 min session at home all week , and my legs feel more flexible and much less painful. Just one area at the moment .
Maybe the side effects of the prednisolone withdrawal are wearing off.
Fingers well and truly crossed.
If things remain like this, I will reduce the dosage once more after Christmas and go through it all again until hopefully in a few months time ..bye bye prednisolone . We'll see
My electric philishace packed up this morning . I got it on special offer ,over a year ago. I'm a bit peeved ,that the battery has gone already
I think I chucked all the cardboard out etc with the receipt .
I just ordered another from John Lewis ,just under £55
Hopefully that will last . Then again, I'm not spending bundles ,so it still works out cheaper than Gillette razors etc
Hope you are all well:)0
