  • So, saw Mr.Trainer this morning . He gave me a workout more in tune with the joint problems I am currently experiencing.
He has been reading up on the condition / steroid side of things ,and he is great . He can't speak highly enough of me it seems . He seems to understand everything I'm going through and thinks my approach and effort is spot on .

I found a picture on my iPhone from exactly a year ago. Mr. Trainer immediately wanted it sent over . I must admit , there has been a big improvement . It looks like I'm not able to swallow as many chairs as I used to . Face seems less inflated compared to that picture.
However , I need to keep it up and not rest on my laurels or ( Oliver) Hardy's.

I was going to use my Apple voucher to buy a dvd drive and external hard drive . Unfortunately the page is undergoing maintenance .
I just realised why that is ..there is yet another announcement later on about wha they are releasing and how much more dosh they can try to extract from us . I have the iPhone s e . Apparently it will work on the next iOS (12?) ,meaning I shouldn't need another phone till at least next year. We'll see the media full of their announcements later.

I won't touch Apple products with a bargepole because of the way they operate, tying people in and making them pay over the odds for the privilege.

Your trainer sounds really good, I'm impressed that he's read up about your condition, I'm sure it will help him to understand your needs, and tailor your training.

Did you see they are discontinuing the iphone SE - will the update work on it?
  • Hi Anna /Gigervamp :)

I looked on the Apple site again just now . I looked in August , and it does say that my se phone will work on iOS 12. Obviously not impressed ( but not surprised) if they go back on their word.
I was going to go sim only next year . As always , these software updates are a p I t a and just another money making room off.

Gigervamp , I agree with your stance and understand 100%
The reason I got into iPhones ,was because they are basically a carbon copy of Mac computers . I am trapped for now .
However , as I am not a premier league footballer, I am refusing to pay the extortionate amount for their top of the range stuff.

If I wasn't involved in a dmp , I could've considered the renewal programme they do, where you get a new phone with a regular payment . I forget the name of it now . They take the money via Barclays who were one of the creditors I defaulted an partially settled with .
I'll be looking at the Vodafone webpage and see if there are any good deals in the meantime .

i use sky mobile AC and do their swap plan, it was really cheap - I'm paying £22.50 for an iphone 7 that I could have swapped in May after 12 months but I've not bothered

For some reason I thought you'd paid your DMP off when you sold the old flat?
  • Thanks Anna .
I did pay off the dmp last summer . I'm a little puzzled on that side of things .
As I made settlements and not paid the full amount owed, I have a feeling that I may have to wait another 6 years for my poor credit listing to be removed totally . It Was in Feb 2012 that I entered the dmp. As I never made "full and final " settlements my credit may still be affected .

I just looked again , and lucky for me my iphone se will work with iOS 12 so I have no need to worry .
I looked at the Apple upgrade plan . I won't go near that. What it basically is , is a credit check for a loan .You then choose the latest phone and you pay a monthly amount . That could be well over £100per month . I'd be better off upgrading via Vodafone and get a cheaper iPhone which will handle the latest software updates when I need to upgrade .

Yeah, I understand why you went for the iphone, having a Mac. That's another one I wouldn't touch, for the same reasons!

At least with Windows/Linux/Android, you're not locked in with one supplier, and can use products from different manufacturers, and can store music where-ever you want. Apple also have so many people complaining about losing everything when there's an update.

Still, I'm glad your phone will still work with the new iOS, you can't really afford to be spending on a new iphone.
  • Okay , pain still there . Over the last couple of days, I've decided to put as much pressure on the painful parts . Mad. , but I have to front this discomfort out and move on .
Mr .Trainer is still full of encouragement and is training me in different ways to adapt to the pain at the moment .

I know I need to be stubborn ,to hopefully reduce this poxy prednisolone further and eventually come off of it altogether .
The alternative is to surrender and go back to my previous dosage .
I have come so far ( I think ) , and don't want to give in unless it is absolutely necessary .

So, looking at the daily emails I receive from indeed I realise that I need to get back into the working environment once again .
I saw that John Lewis are ( or should I say were) , advertising for Xmas positions . I missed out on that .
Yesterday however, a leaflet was with the post advising me that Royal Mail are also advertising for xmas positions .
I decided sod it , I'll apply and see what happens .
It was soul destroying filling out the massive application form .
I was in 2 minds whether to mention my new friend Myasthenia Gravis
I did . I expect to be monitored more closely ..if I get to the interview stage . The amount that you give away about yourself to others once you tick the multiple boxes is astonishing . I feel that now I've disclosed my condition , there is no turning back . I could be a lot worse ..and was . So we'll see.

I haven't gone to jobseekers as I didn't feel ready to be treated like crap. This application for the post office is a big test for me . It will test my interviewing technique. If I did manage to be the job , it will be the big test back in the working environment .
What I have to remember ,is when I came of the prednisolone too early and still did my duties when I was very ill in Dec- jan 2015/16
I remember walking like an old man of 100 . I still did the duties and painted the living room and hallway in my old flat . If I can do that , surely I can work again..

I decided to use my Apple gift card which I got when I got my iMac last year . Free £120:j I got a cd/ dvd drive and a portable external hard drive .

I've started burning all of my CDs on to my Mac .
    That's gonna take a while :)

Well done on biting the bullet and applying for the job. Good luck!

A lot of places will start advertising their xmas vacancies now, so keep your eye out. In retail, Lidl and Aldi pay really well (for retail, where the pay is usually NMW) at about £8.50-£9.50 an hour.

Husband and I will be down your way next week, staying in Swanage again. Can't wait, I love it down there, and the flat we stay in is right above the beach, so the view from the terrace is lovely. Just hoping the weather improves!

Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get an interview.
  • Thanks gigervamp :)
The weather should be fine for you next week . Hope you enjoy .
Today is very windy . A little drizzle . Not the downpour expected , although that may come later .
I woke up too early this morning ,and felt a bit rundown today after that long fiorm filling process earlier . I was just closing my eyes , and the buzzer rang . Blasted jehovas witnesses !
