    Hello AC,

Happy New Year to you. You sound like you're still moving forward really well with everything. Your music room sounds exciting.

I had the same hunt for my driving license a while back. I still haven't found it so had to pay for a new one! That helped though as I was still using the paper one.

Do you have any plans for new year? I can't decide what to do at the moment, but it's lovely to have options.

Regarding the DWP, you'll need to go to the job centre to sign up. You'll be put on Universal Credit and will have to job hunt (and show proof of it). If you're not fit to work, you would need to claim ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) and have an assessment to see if you qualify. To fill in the ESA forms, it's best to see a disability benefits advisor, as they'll know the best way to word things on the forms. You can find out more information online.

Thanks very much for this gigervamp. Trying not to think too much about it now . I have gone online and found the address / phone no's etc so will look into this when I'm brave enough..

Hello MT :) nice to hear from you again . Your diary is great , and it looks like you have many options for the new year . Will pop over to that later .

It's nice to know that you think everything is going well here .
Tbh, I think once I have a job , or help and guidance from universal credit etc , then more or less all the boxes are ticked and that my move is a success. Trying to stay positive ..
No plans for new year as such , but I will be seeing friends over the weekend . Have a great new year :)
  • Happy new year ! :)

A brief update : bought lots of fruit ..then put in freezer. Will be doing smoothies everyday. Had too many guinnes's with friend over the weekend . Had to cancel Mr.Trainer on Monday ,as I purchased 4 large crates from Argos . They use yodel, and not dpd who I prefer .
You could fit a family in those crates.

Yesterday , the hallway was like a children's plat area . Tonight I cleared it . Music room is complete . I just have to take down the shelves that I asked james to put up . I don't have to, but I think it will look better. Amazing really. When I first moved in , I was offloading my removal crates..now I buy them again .

I forgot to mention my dyson broke, when my friend was fixing my wardrobe . Not to worry though. I have a 2 year guarantee. I received a Replacement part today. So tomorrow will be a day of dusting , tidying and finally playing my musical stuff.

I always reflect a little at this time . I must say that I have had 2 great years. Having said that , I have had 9 awful ones . That's mainly because of the worst recession and austerity in modern times and me not being man enough to do anything until 2016. I knew what I had to do, and although it is taking longer than even I anticipated I know I did the right thing .
What now? Obviously , get off of the prednisolone by Easter . A small miracle if I can do that . Lose weight of course. The final part and hardest is to find the job and get back on the system . I cannot believe it will be three years if I don't do something . No need to be told .

Seems odd in a way, that I've only been to London 3 times in 2 years.
Never thought I'd say I don't miss it. It's funny really when I see the news on itv meridian . Fred dinage is a legend, as are the main presenters. Also more importantly , you hear more about mobility scooters than stabbings and shootings . Surreal really :rotfl:
    That's it for now..

    Happy New Year AC.

Glad to hear you are managing to reduce the meds. That's got to be good.

Keep going and all will be well.

    Hey AC,

Thanks for being such a regular poster on my diary. It's always lovely seeing you there.

Regarding the meds and weight loss, you'll get there. It's always been such a focus for you and I have to say that I really admire your tenacity with your personal goals. You deserve a massive pat on the back for that. When I first read your diaries you had goals but you were dragged down by the London environment and a nasty work atmosphere but you've pushed through all of those boundaries and here you are today, still rocking it. I'm confident 2019 will be more big steps towards those goals for you and it's lovely being able to witness your journey.

    Thanks again Mt :)
Yeah , I needed to just rest and literally kick everything to one side .
I haven't used the middle finger over the last 2+ years so it's a sign of a happier life I guess:rotfl:
It's always good if we have an open mind on how to escape life's excessive tensions ..
  • So, where am I ?
Well , I've done 90+% on the music room . I chucked loads of stuff into crates . I have 3 crates in my bedroom . Surprisingly , that's not so bad for now . 1 more crate to fill, and that's that .
The wardrobe is overflowing with clothes etc . I won't chuck any out because there are lots of things that will fit me once I get down a couple of sizes this year .

I phoned the company about my radiators . They use contractors . That doesn't fill me with confidence . I await a phone call from them
I believe a powerflush is needed. I may phone back and ask the cost
If it's too expensive , I may use another company other than reactive
They are part of the Alsatian army group so one would think they wouldn't leave me too cold in the winter..

Saw mr. Trainer . Everything great on that score . Just had another home made smoothie . Not the greatest . Very much like cats urine

Slightly misread this part AC, and thought "no wonder he has cancelled Mr. Trainer after 4 large crates of Guiness" - followed by realisation that, unless things have changed dramatically, last time I used Argos they didn't sell Guiness.:rotfl:

Good that you are having a positive start to the NY. I have set up my spreadsheet to track my spending for 2019. After reviewing 2018 spending I can see that I need to find ways to save as it got a bit out of hand at the end of the year. Cancelled RAC b/down who wanted £168 (and could only reduce it to £111) when I rang them. Have got new contract for £40, so that was good. Will be looking for more "wins" like this as stuff comes up for renewal. Alfie cat is having his own column for his food as I can't seem to reduce my grocery spending and I have a suspicion that it is his food that costs the most. I may be in for a nasty shock.
    Happy New Year.
  • Hi Dreaming :) yes, that does sound odd . Crates, Guinness and mr. Trainer :rotfl:

Glad Alfie is still in fine form .
