Finishing at £336.80 / £300
Way over but been more mindful of spending . OH finished the month on bottled water instead of brand name cola and energy drinks, also not buying lunches at work so often
I’ve set £400 for February as we’re lower on freezer stock than January, starting from today as delivery to start February arrives tomorrow
Thanks for the support etc see you on the flip sideOne day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Today was a NSD but yesterday but I had two spends totaling €11.05.
I'm debating whether I should buy/stock up on the following at Lidl tomorrow: ground turkey; chicken drumsticks (2kg for €4.24); and smoked salmon. I would divvy up the the first two toss them into the freezer along with several packets of smoked salmon. It would probably cost about €15.00. I'll think about it more in the morning.
I'll also definitely get some more blackberries and cheese to last me through until I leave on Friday morning for my business trip and some portable snacks for the weekend. That'll be around €20.00.

Popped to the corner shop for bread this morning, won't be making a habit of it, warbuttons toastie loaf £1.50.
Did the top up shop this afternoon at Ald!, got milk, veg for tea, brioche rolls, bananas and some crisps for pack up.
Tonight had to do an emergency run to tosco for paracetamol liquid for the youngest who's got a temperature and we used the last of the liquid earlier.
Total now stands at £400.33/£400, not worried about being a few pence over.Grocery Challenge 2024

Slinking in to admit to another £16 today, taking me just over £20 above budget. Ah well... most of it will go on well into February! I was just too exhausted to make naans after a long spell at the allotment in the wind this morning, then thought I might as well stock up on frozen veg whilst I had spare carrying capacity - we can't eat broccoli all week - and rice, and DS2, who's been a a bit down in the dumps lately, does love a poppadum or two...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Checking in for the month with a total spend of 254.98 euros. Way over my revised budget but below my original one!
50 of this has been spent over the weekend so has been taken off February's budget as it's after pay day. Cupboards are well stocked and February is a short month!
Well done to everyone who has achieved their target.

I’m quite a big chunk over my target now at £419 instead of £390. Not too despondent though as I’ve had a look at my spreadsheets and I’m about £30 lower than this time last year (and prices have definitely increased since then so I must have bought a lot less ‘stuff’).
I’ll just have to try and be more firm next month - I definitely tend to fritter when one of us is feeling a bit low so that is something to watch out for.
Going to declare at £419 for this month as I’ve got no cash to go out and spend till February now (which is one way to control the budget I suppose!)LBM 23/09/13 - DFD 08/10/17 :T0 -
I had £3 left, daughter announced she was nipping out for dry shampoo? She would have been quicker to have washed her hair, but what do I know.
Anyway she asked if I wanted anything, so I got a bag of revels, a bag of maltesers and a pack of 6 hula hoop puffs.
So that's it all money spent. Menu plan for the month stuck to apart from a switch round at weekend when the in-laws came to dinner and a day when we changed our plans.
Will do another months meal plan at work in my break as it worked well, but next month we are cutting down. Better get the maltesers and revels eaten over the next couple of nights, in preparation!0 -
So it’s been a learning curve for me this month. Doing ALOT wrong !
Total spend &613/5200[/
[/Far too many top up shops. Spending on my card rather than withdrawing cash. Catering to a whole collection of fussy eaters and spending too much on snacks (cereal bars in particular).
Glad Feb a shorter month. Hopefully will spend lots less. Reading the posts daily and so impressed by people’s ability to shop on a much lower budget. I will get there !0 -
Needed a few things that couldn't wait for Thursday and then spied an item that has not been stocked for a couple of years and was on limited stock so stocked up before it went again so did go off list, sigh.
£21.88 to add to January total but not declaring yet even though have no intentions of spending anything tomorrow so as not to tempt fate.....0 -
As I had no idea tbh I am surprised - i make it 369.53 for the month.
Next month i am going to be very careful of receipts as I have a feeling that the odd small cash amount may have escaped.Gc challenge £363.53/ 500
