Since Monday of last week I've spent.....
Tuesday : 3 packets of nibbles from P0undland (£3), and a Jaffa Cake cheesecake type dessert from Mr T (in lieu of a bithday cake, and I had it all to myself as I celebrated solo) (£1.50)
Sunday started with a trip to A1di, which came in at £7.05 and got me
a pack of pork steaks (chopped into strips to make stroganoff - considerably cheaper than the specified fillet, and turned out fine)
a large tub of mushrooms
a bag of shallots
fresh garlic
a tub of single cream
a pack of 4 baking potatoes
3 loose bananas (the largest I could find as they charge per banana)
a wholemeal loaf
Then I nipped into BnM and picked up 2 Thai Curry kits (2 for £1), a panetonne (would have been rude not to at 49p, and it's nice too), and a bag of liquorice allsorts (found a pack with no liquorice wands and lots of the jelly buttons which suits me to a T) - another £2.49
And finally into Her0n - 2 bags of salted peanuts, 3 packs of snack bars, and a pack of 2 individual cheesecakes, which cost a further £3.59
Total spend now stands at £112.15 / £130Cheryl0 -
Yaaaay.. A NSD here in the grocery department anyhoo..
Did purchase a scoop of ice cream at the cinema (comes out of entertainment budget so pheew) expensive though:eek:
Used up some lurking fridge items for tea, made some cheesy mash and it was all rather tasty (no complaints from the 2DS's)
Fingers crossed to the last day of Jan being a spend free one"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -

I've done my meal plan for Feb, thinking of going to the butchers and buying everything for the month and freezing it. Saves time and hopefully I'll stick to the plan that way.
Do you share yours on any of the threads? Always looking for inspiration, and always find monthly ones inspiring.
I am vegan, but can easily adapt most things; though I get little time to plan and cook with work and college at the moment.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £76.30/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. I had £3 left, daughter announced she was nipping out for dry shampoo? She would have been quicker to have washed her hair, but what do I know.
Anyway she asked if I wanted anything, so I got a bag of revels, a bag of maltesers and a pack of 6 hula hoop puffs.
So that's it all money spent. Menu plan for the month stuck to apart from a switch round at weekend when the in-laws came to dinner and a day when we changed our plans.
Will do another months meal plan at work in my break as it worked well, but next month we are cutting down. Better get the maltesers and revels eaten over the next couple of nights, in preparation!
I can sympathise with this. I use it only when desperate,as I can manage not to hair wash for a good 5/6 days. However,14year old DD will sometimes wash hair and then spray this the next morning or days in between. She has got much better though as used to wash hair nearly daily. Is she fairly young?
BTW, also re dry shampoo ...Batiste have a new range of fragrances I haven't heard of before in their dry shampoo range and it's currently on offer for a£1 a tin. This is at Morrisons, and may only be online; as I know they don't do this particular one in our store, they hardly stock any. Though Morrisons own one is good according to DD.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £76.30/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Morning everyone. Yesterday was a NSD but today will probably be see some spending. We checked OH into the hospital yesterday for testing regarding his breathing and they decided to keep him overnight for more testing. Hopefully he'll be released this afternoon and they won't have to keep him again overnight. He'll be on medication for the next few months and I think we'll have to adjust his diet to ensure it doesn't contravene with the medication.
Before going to the hospital yesterday, he cancelled his London business trip. He was supposed to leave this morning and return late tomorrow night. Before I go collect him from the hospital this afternoon I'll probably buy some basic things that he and I can both eat. I'm also going on a business trip (Friday - Tuesday) and after I get the list of possibly banned foods, I'll do a larger shop for him tomorrow morning.
Totals So Far:
8 NSD
€373.06/€550.00
I'm estimating I'll spend about €25 today but I'll see how that goes. I'm going to change my estimates over on the February thread as well since it looks like I'll be buying a lot more stuff for him next month. He can't over exert himself so I'll physically be doing more of the shopping. The country we're in doesn't have great online shopping yet STILL, and so it's just easier to go to a local shop.0 -
Hello all, I really havent been posting, which I think has allowed me to go 'unchecked'! So my original budget was £290.72 (pennies swept into this category) and my Food (which includes alcohol) came to £352.44, which is £61.72 over budget. We had a costco trip that came to £68.01, which is what tipped us over budget. I will be aiming to create a sinking fund towards 'bulk buys' so the grocery budget doesnt take a massive hit like this.
I've also been sneaky and have now separated out alcohol consumed at home from the grocery budget, this month I bought a lovely bottle of gin that was on offer (Sipsmith 70cl for £25!) for special G+Ts and then found that Bombay Sapphire was on offer for £18 for a litre, which we use for regular G+Ts, so thats bought down my grocery budget by £43, told you, sneaky. So that left the budget at £309.44which meant I was technically only over by £18.72.
I have a separate allowance for consumables (which I wiped out at costco), I mean who can resist 45 rolls of Andrex for £12 + change!
