  • Good Morning chums well haven't we all done extremely well, and its only just 25th January I am so pleased at how everyone has got on board Thanks Gers for the heads up.
I was talking to my eldest DD at the weekend and I said I was looking for a folding table for my jigsaws and she said 'That's brilliant Mum, I didn't know what to get you for your birthday next month, so don't buy it I will treat you :) bless her.She is going to sort it out and I told her exactly what I needed and it will be my present:) She is always saying how hard it is to buy me anything as there are very few things I want or need at my age :) but I do enjoy my jigsaws and our local library have a whole section that you can borrow from. for free :)

Suki well done on staying dry honey and getting stuck into your decluttering
I am still eating my way through the food mountain thats in my freezer in the hope of defrosting before Easter :)

Tomorrow is my second food shop of this month and I am very pleased at how well I have got through buying so little so far. If it goes OK and I stick to my list I will have spent only half my normal budget for the the month :) Next month I have my DGS Jack's 18th birthday to buy for so the left over loot will help buy him something nice.

My computer room is looking really tidy now, and even my spare room actually has room to spare in it. So much junk has got decluttered and its great not to be falling over it all.

My accounts are all up to date and bills paid so I am pleased with making the effort and getting extra savings here and there
Everyone should give themselves a big pat on the back as you all have been amazing.

    Cheers chums JackieO xx

    Hi all.
I went to Al*is this morning for a top up of bread, milk etc and only spent £13. It was so busy I didn't stop to look at anything else I might have bought :T.
I also wanted a new top as we are going to a swanky hotel as part of our Xmas pressie from DD. I have plenty of black/navy ones but I wanted something brighter. I had to go to town anyway for the bank and managed to get one in the sale for £3. I was very happy with that :j.
My next challenge is to sort things out ready for a " tip trip " and actually do the trip as I no longer drive and I have to rely on DH.
Keep up with the good work everyone.

Seized another day trip out as the sun was shining. That's the first sun we have seen since last Friday, because all we have had is rain, sleet or hail. How come the sun only seems to shine here on Fridays. Perhaps we haven't paid the bill !
Keep up the good work all.

I am still looking for a new house, only online until I see something suitable in the area I want. I know I will be moving so am spending the dull days sorting and tidying here. The plan is still very much alive but sorting now will make the future easier

    Hi All

Just a quick catch up . I am still swimming. Yesterday I had a free medical at work. The upshot of which is I need to change my diet and tale a little more exercise. I need to up my game as I have been referred to something to diabetes awareness.
I have to catch up with the budget tonight and I have a ton of sorting to do
  • almost the first month gone and well on the way with some of my hopes and plans.Today I have some hooks and nails to knock in the walls to hang up some of the pictures that have been sitting around having been framed before Christmas and not yet hung up.Its one of those 'to-do' jobs that I have been putting to one side to do :),also sanding down a shelf for my DGS as he wants it painted in red and white for his room. That too has been on the list of to-do jobs .So today it will be a 'got done ' day hopefully :) Still searching for my lost kindle I know its somewhere in the house but I'm blowed if I can find it at the moment Decluttering as I go and it will turn up no doubt

  • It's funny as I usually find January to be a depressing month, but I feel quite positive this year.:)

I'm looking forward to bringing the donation bags to the charity shop this week and we are getting our living room decorated too.

Can't believe it's 1st of Feb already .
I have filled another bag for the cs and it's gone already, so I'm getting there slowly ( where ever there may be :rotfl: )
We have also decided to get new double glazing and we have made an appointment for Monday to finalise the type of doors / windows we want. We are also replacing the rear living room window with patio doors, something I've always wanted in this house. It will be a bit more expensive than just replacing the window, but not much.
Hope everyone is still getting along OK

  • Hi everyone

This year I have until the end of March to completely declutter & my DH to decorate, as my DSis is moving in for an unspecified amount of time.

So my plans for 2018 are:

    1. Complete declutter of stuff
    2. Redecorate at least five rooms
    3. Use up freezer, fridge & larder contents so I can start from scratch
    4. Do more baking
    5. Be more inventive in my cooking

I think that is enough to be going on with and as far as no.4 I have baked on 2nd & 3rd of January & plan to bake today (DH very appreciative but not his waistline!)

Thanks JackieO for starting this thread.

Will pop in again at the end of the month to update on my progress.

Good luck to us all and sending positive vibes into the ether!

    Mrs SD:)

Hi everyone, lots of successes being reported which is very encouraging:T

    My”successes” are a bit more haphazard:eek:

    1. Lots going out & nothing much apart from food coming in BUT, BUT there are only a couple of very small pockets of clear space:( I am sure the clutter breeds:eek:

    2. Very poor result on this - only one room fully redecorated but needs new carpet & the blinds & curtains put up. 4 more rooms to do so I don’t think that is going to happen over the next two months:eek:

    3. This has been very successful re the freezer - apart from lots of bags of vegetables & herbs there is only a small beef joint, 500g of beef mince & some mackerel fillets to use up. The larder has only one or two of the items I use regularly.

    4. Baked 10 days out of 31- just about 1 in 3:T - Success

    5. Have managed this a couple of times this month - so the jury is still out on this one:undecided

Wishing everyone success for their 2018 Plans & Hopes!
