    Hi All

Just to let you know that I am now approaching the end of my second unfinished project.
I have also had a declutter which I intend to continue with as I quite like the clear spaces.

The garden has been started I have filled up the wheelie bin and two bin bags this weekend this will be ongoing as there is a hell of a lot to tackle.

Budget to be worked through tonight.

    Good evening folks.
Today's de-cluttered item....... a large stereo and it's storage unit. The wooden unit has been dismantled and will sit in the shed awaiting a new life as something else. The stereo unfortunately is destined for the tip :(.
Good night all. Keep up the good work.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

Print off photos of DGSs, frame them in one of those multi-aperture frames that I bought almost 12 months ago and hang on the wall. Yes, it happened! :)

Reduce the pile of "to be read again" books and finally get them out of the house. Some made their way out, but still a fair few to go.

Don't have a garden (just a small patio) but do have quite a few large pots that I'd like to use for food stuff (fruit, herbs, veggies). Grew small tomatoes, radishes, strawberries, chives. Also went gathering blackberries and crab apples.

Continue working through my yarn stash. In 2018 I knitted: man's jumper x1, ladies jumper x1, ladies cardigans x2, children's jumpers x6 and a throw still in the making - all without buying more yarn. The stash is going down, but there's still a lot there! :o

Go through my (large) fabric stash and actually make something with it :D. Any pieces I know I won't use can go to the CS. Failure on this one :( but will be trying again in 2019.

Try to go for a walk every day - even if it's only round the block! (I need the exercise :rotfl:) Partial success but room for improvement. :D

Like blackcatsx2, continue with the whole-house de-clutter. The kitchen is next on the hit-list! An enormous amount has gone in the first sweep :j but there's more could go!

So, how was it for you?
Be kind to others and to yourself too.
  • Argh I've had trouble quoting my previous post, lost several long posts trying, and I can't seem to get colour to work. So here's a summary:

Meal plan and cook from scratch more
I did fairly well, not every week but this has definitely increased over the last year.

    Make my own bread
I kept making bread, not very successfully. Then someone locally started a Real Bread Club, we have only had one meeting so far but it's definitely helped, and I managed to produce something edible!

Continue decluttering with the Marie Kondo method
Ongoing, there's always more to do but overall I think I have kept this up

Spend more time having fun, and seeing friends
I have had quite a few days out, short breaks and theatre trips - as well as just having coffee, and chats.

    Do more sewing
A partial success. I have done quite a bit, but not as much as I'd like, and rather too much for other people. This is going back on the list for 2019.

Go for a walk every day
Failed. There are reasons for this, I've got some joint problems which are being investigated. I have started swimming regularly and have kept it up for six months.

Plan and take a proper holiday - I've got funds saved up, but I keep putting off making a decision
Didn't happen but I have got a short holiday booked in May.

I'm really pleased to look back at this, I've done better than I thought. One aim I didn't put down last year, because I was trying to be realistic, was to lose weight. Amazingly that has happened this year, I have lost more than a stone although there's still more to go.

Time to plan next year's hopes!
Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.
