Hi everyone,
murie - yes those are they candles. Must admit they are more expensive than I remembered...
Ama$on delivery coming later today which has 2 pressies in it. Got heroes from A$da today (£4) so that's the chocolate sorted. DH has been staring whimsically at the wine mailshots we've been sent from Laithwaite$. Used to have a quarterly box but cancelled it when DH was made redundant two years ago. Might treat ourselves to a few bottles nearer the time - if we get it now we will drink it!
vulpix - oooh to the craft fayre - what do you make (if you don't mind me asking). There is one next Saturday at a village hall down the road which I'm planning to go to. DMum makes wonderful tea cosies and blankets and is looking for an outlet to sell them. Going to do some market research for her!!
Have a good day all,

I mostly make handsewn patchwork cushions and knitted baby stuff.Little jumpers, bootees (very popular),kids hats n mittens and baby blankets. I have sold a fair few at the peddlars market that I do with my daughter but this is a local venue and they said just give a donation if you have a good day as it's really an open day for something else.My Mum also knits beautiful stuff and little mice and things with scraps which are popular.Hand knits are popular at the moment but I wouldnt do things that would take me more than a couple of days to make as you get nothing like the amount you should charge for the time it takes you. Both me and my Mum just enjoy making and make for the shoe box appeals too.I would add,the most popular baby stuff is in non traditional baby colours.Been to my Mum's this morning and she is knitting some lovely Gryfindor colours bootees. They will be snapped up.
Got a couple of the M N S shortbread today for MIL and my Mum. Also found some boxes of Swedish Dala Horse shaped chocolates for £1 each, they will be a change as a stocking filler.
Off to East Yorkshire again tomorrow for a meeting.Very cloak and dagger.Tell you all about it if the plan comes together.

Popped into matalan earlier to return an item, Christmas stuff on display in all its glory, I had to reastrain myself from just picking up stuff for the sake of it.
Btw their returns period is now only 14days, I haven't been in for ages and would've been caught out had I not decided to go over today.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hi all!
Managed to add another few bits to my stash!
Got two kids games from Tesco in the sale, £5 each. Picked up a 5 pack of Bayliss and Harding gift sets from Costco, think it was about £15 for the 5, that will be good as gifts and some stocking fillers.
I've budgeted £25 per adult and £20 per child, but so far I'm coming in really far under this. Kids so far at about £8 each by the time I add in a colouring book or something similar. Adults so far are about £15, maybe £18 each by the time I add a wee something in.
Pretty chuffed with it all so far!0 -
Hello :santa2:
I did that vanishing for half the year thing again, I've just started my making of baubles for Christmas markets so naturally the first thing I think of is you lovely lot!
I'm not insane so I haven't read back the millions of pages since I was last here, but these gingerbread matchmakers sound like something I need in my life! I love gingerbread!
I can't wait to hear all your lovely Christmas plans, and finds this year
xanything's possible if you've got enough nerve

i bought 3 boxes of matchmakers from Tesco, 2 x mint and 1 x gingerbread - squirrelled away for xmas. I use them as 'reward sticks' when I write out my xmas cards (a job I really don't like - although I do have a fun stamper set from Paperchase - sale naturally - to use this year) .... wondering if getting one made up 'To ...., Merry Christmas, From Kerrigt and family' would be acceptable :rotfl:
Oh, and I also saw Choc oranges somewhere for £3!!!!:eek::eek:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hi All!
I earned some survey money last month, decided to spend it today online at the Works getting some more gifts and stocking fillers ticked off my list! Bought some of their 2 for £10 kids gift sets, the 10 for £10 kids books plus another small bits. Used my earned money, spent 64p from my own bank account, plus I've got £3odds cashback to be claimed!
Still lots left to get, but I do love a bargain!

I got the Matchmakers:j I bought 13 boxes:D
Although only 1 for me, the rest I will put aside for the families we will be supporting for Christmas. Need some suggestions please for the families. We will get alot of donations for them, but we are going to sort out a staples hamper also, most, if not all, of the kids get free school dinners, so we will want to ensure that they have as full bellies as possible during the school holidays. With that in mind, we are each going to buy a particular item, if we start now, we can buy one extra thing a week without noticing the overall cost.
At the moment, the list is looking like this, so any suggestions on what else would be a good addition will be appreciated.
Tea
Coffee
Sugar
Cereal (probably porridge as that will keep them full & warm)
Pasta
Rice
Apparently it is possible to buy tinned curry (probably doesn't taste great, but chuck it on some rice, it will keep teenage boys happy for a bit!)
I was thinking of flavoured noodles, but any other suggestions will be great.
We will also be getting toiletries, decent loo paper & things like that, it will allow them to use what little cash they have to buy their own preferences, especially as it is such a multicultural area.
There will be treats also!A smile costs little but creates much0
