Thanks for the feedback - despite being another carnivore I do like a good veggie burger and my nephew's gf is pesce so I'm always looking for ideas for gatherings that don't end up being a piece of salmon or something with mushrooms :rotfl:. I suspect they might also work well turned into balls with toms sauce/pasta or in a sub sandwich. Might also get me over my quinoa aversion:cool:
yes caronc i came across this when I was looking for a recipe for a gluten free vegetarian acquaintance that didn't cost the earth ...think the only difference is making sure you use GF oats.
Good idea on the non meat balls0 -

I'm planning on making a sw chicken tikka masala tomorrow, so hopefully that turns out well.
I love chicken tikka masala so let us know how it goes0 -

Instead I made a dish that had all of the main ingredients (peppers, cauliflower rice, tomatoe puree, mozzarella) but I went renegade and made it myself without following the recipe or even looking at it (not sure why).
I liked it and it was perfectly edible but OH said the peppers weren't roasted enough, the cauliflower rice was bland, the tomato puree was weird, but the cheese was nice.
I think next time I will follow the recipe, I am sure the recipe is nice.
What do you think about the Tom Kerridge book Florence J ? I am feeling the need to buy it0 -

I do like the book, but the difficulty with me and any cook book is I don't eat meat, so unless the cook book is a specific veggie/pescetarian cook book I find most of it seems to be off limits to me because the meat recipes are so meaty that it is not really a case you can subtract the meat for a veggie product.
To be clear, that is a problem I have with all cook books for the most part, so it is no direct criticism of Tom Kerridge.
To be honest I think I like the cook book because I like the TV series. I don't think I would have bought it otherwise. What I mean by that is the TV series makes the recipes come alive in a way I don't feel they do in the book, I bought the cookbook last Saturday and looked through it but didn't feel particularly inspired by any recipe I hadn't already seen on TV, but then this weeks episode naturally showed recipes from the book that were 'new' to TV, and suddenly I liked it again.
I am going to try and make 5 recipes from it before I know whether it is for me. But I do think it is a good cook book and would be worth buying.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Thank you great critique FlorenceJ look forward to seeing the others you try. Im not a veggie but do love veggie days and its a good way for me to delve into new recipes and new ingredients.0 -
I've just ordered the Tom Kerridge book from Ama*on. Much cheaper than in the shops at £8.99 but a delay of a couple of weeks but happy with that for the much cheaper price - :money:.
I've made one recipe which was published in a magazine I get from Beneden - Thai Green Curry with chicken. Makes huge portions. I only made half the recipe for DH & I but there was enough for both of us last night with rice and for lunch today with a Jacket potato. Will definitely be making it again. Think it would work well with prawns as well.

I don't think I'm going to manage any new recipes this week as I need to use up various bits and don't want to add anything else to stocks. So far I've not seen anything new to make that I fancy where I'm not short of a least one essential ingredient.0
