I have been approved for the platinum card 24.9%, 3 mths interest free, points for spending and £20 gift card, not a bad card that as i spend quite a lot on amazon and can benefit from the points, they offered me the instant £500 spend which i declined but does anyone know what the limit might be ?, i'm hoping for £1000 min so i can spend Christmas on it, i already have an aqua card with a £3500 limit and no balance
  • It depends entirely on your circumstances.

The aqua limit could play both ways. One one hand, it shows that you can be trusted with a higher limit. However, as it's all with NewDay, they are generally cautious about over exposure for a single customer across their brands.

But I'd have thought north of 1k is very likely.

NewDay are very conservative with limits

  • Yep - I somehow got my £900 limit raised to £1,950 on their Aqua Reward card over a year ago (only 2 years discharged from BR) - since then they've refused to budge further or give me any other cards (I wanted Amazon just for the points). They've also hiked my interest rate about 5 times.

Overall I have a lot less debt, am no longer being credit impaired (3 years discharged) and have always paid on time (in full) - Certainly think they're a LOT more conservative than the likes of Capital One!

I’ve closed all but one of my Newday cards as their not really good value. The offers the give are poor. I had a 0% offer for balance and money transfers but only 6 months with a 3% fee. Not good value at all. I have kept my outfit card as the rewards aren’t to bad an that one!
