  • I've just had an increase from £800 to £1200.
I intailly used it for the 3 month interest free around £600 cleared it off and now just put on £50 a month and pay it in full.

I rang to change my direct debit and the lady said there is an offer on the account for a credit increase so took it. I've only got the classic but hopefully they will upgrade it at the end of the year.

I’ve had a much bigger increase on a different new day card £700 to £1600 and I’ve used the cards about the same. No idea how they work out limit increases.

So just about 6 months after having a classic amazon card, today got a letter saying they are upgrading me to the platinum card and increasing my limit from 1400 pounds to 5000 pounds !!!

That’s just plain crazy.....not sure if interest rate will change.....in the 6 statements I’ve had from amazon I’ve paid them 7.25 in interest....

But quite shocked at the credit limit increase....

God knows. I've had an Amazon Platinum for about a year now. Constantly make purchases on it. Always pay in full. Sent them a message, the other week, asking for a limit increase from the £500 I have at present. They said no.

I have cards with very large limits on them, so it's probably not a biggy, really.

Platinum card with a 500 limit....isn’t that a bit low.....the classic card I had came with a larger limit

I don!!!8217;t find NewDay that generous. Creation are way more generous.

I!!!8217;ve gat an opus card with £1600 limit I never use.
Amazon card with £900 limit I use once a month and House of Fraser Card with £1200 limit. One of my creation cards has £8k limit and the other 7.7k limit :rotfl:
  • So for most people now approaching a year of card usage.

If / when they upgrade to Platinum card does the card number stay the same ( would have thought so ) and does the credit limit sta the same

    Thanks
  • Does the Platinum Card come automatically after 1 year? I’ve contacted NewDay but haven’t heard back yet. I should be due mine this month.
  • It depends on personal circumstances and how well behaved you were with the card.

A card upgrade doesn’t warrant a limit increase.

You’ll likely be issued a new card though and it may have a different card number.
