My PIN came today as well.
It's worth pointing out to anyone who might be interested in this card that the £20 voucher incentive has now been slashed to £10.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Well they should stick to the indication they give not say “ oh we are delighted to inform you that we can offer you this card “ then go and decline it. In my opinion its bad practice and I even called there customer service to ask the accuracy of their elegibility to be told its “ spot on “ so given the circumstances I only applied on the back end of the info given.0

I can understand your frustration but for whatever reason they decided you weren't eligible when they completed their final checks.
You can appeal their decision, there's no harm in that. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

It's not quite worded like that, it says we may be able to offer you a card. It also says that is our opinion from the information that has been given so far, we my change our decision after a full credit check.
I do agree that the eligibility check isn't fit for purpose. I've twice been turned down after a successful eligibility check.0 -

I'd be surprised if that was the wording they used.
I think you're dramatically over-egging what they said.
This is the on-line response I received:
And the email they sent, containing similar wording:0 -
Did you read the footnote:
Please note the above information is only an indication of whether we are likely to be able to offer you an Amazon..... etc.
This is subject to change based on the outcome of a full application.
Seems pretty clear to me that it's not a guarantee...0 -
Card came today with a lowly 500 limit.
Hoping for me....but hey not gonna run a balance on it0 -
Are all the Amazon CCs aimed at people with bad credit? And if so, will it hurt my file if I have one? I got one for the rewards, but don't have bad credit at all. I'm hoping this won't negatively impact me in the future! I don't have any intention of applying for credit any time soon, but I do like to get new CCs every so often to make sure I'm getting the best rewards that I can. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thinking the classic one is aimed at subprime customers....I applied only for the incentive of the free 20 pounds credit on amazon.
Amazon also do a platinum card which has amazon rewards and points towards amazon spending.....those people who have a amazon classic card are upgrad3d to the platinum version after a year obviously depending on card conduct.0 -
Applied for card Christmas Day (25th December). PIN arrived 3rd January and card arrived 4th January.
On-screen message at the end of my application said I would receive a £10 Amazon voucher. I've just registered the card and on checking my Amazon account note it's been credited with £20.
All good so far. :T0
