  • Waves hello sorry been awol.

    Holibubs time.

Beanie thank you. Mum is doing ok, no reaction to this treatment so far so fingers crossed.

Being money mindful on holidays. Easy here as so much is free (water taps) and theres been a big festival on so got given lots of goodies (Clif bars, yum) so weve been doing ok.

Slight hiccup at hotel as no desk in room and ds is so close to end of MSc hes studying, nicely they moved us two days in when a much bigger room came vacant. Nice folks.

Portions so big here we are sharing or just having kids/ entrees. Although its very reasonable.

Loving exploring local supermarkets, i know how to treat myself.

Boots and skis bought on ebay 12 holidays ago have been well worth the investment :D even packed one bag each to save extra bag charges.

    :) hope youre all grand.

    Waves.

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

    Waves to happy campers.

Reports from home suggest mutts are doing grand.

Expenses showed up in the bank today. Not cleared but certainly put me back in the black.

Very welcome. Paid cleaner (£24) and need to move some money about.

Beanie hope its nice in the kingdom.

Uncanny love instagram, so easy to just post something bonnie. Loving the mutt photos.

Lost myself for an hour in some stores looking for good sized maple syrup to take home. Any tips RT?

Seem to eat so much healthier on holidays, whats that all about? Lots veggie choices out here, which i love even though im an omnivore. Wonder if im just lazy at home?

Splashed out on some kids (short legs me) salopets in end of season sale.50% off My old ones are falling apart (15 years old, kids). Happy find. Theyll do me well. Will repair the oldies and use in garden.

Used hotel voucher for free beverage and 15% off dinner. Served by a chap who went to uni in big golf city near our home.

    Small world.

Glorious day today, making most of the sunshine and lift passes.

    Have a good one.

...Lost myself for an hour in some stores looking for good sized maple syrup to take home. Any tips RT?...

Hey Pipster - given that you are "out west" and they are not known for syrup, I'd say look for a can or two of syrup from the central part of the country! Canned syrup keeps on the shelf for a good long time & once opened you can decant into a sterilized jam jar, mason jar or other glass jar & refrigerate...

See here for an article on my favorite kind...

Also, lighter syrup (usually in glass bottles) is considered premium as it has not boiled down as long as the dark stuff, but personally I like the dark stuff & it's more frugal being that is sells for cheaper per litre/gallon...

Hope that's what you were looking for!
