  • Now I understand the 2nd PCN, it's just confirming PE gesture of goodwill for another 14 days.

Oh it's merely the Reminder then, they always send that. Bin it. The one bit of paper that's binnable.

There is no 'goodwill' to PPCs even in this season, from this forum, and certainly none flows from them! There is nothing about this industry that cares for one second about land or parking management.

It is high time the Government woke up to the sad fact that PPCs are just money-grabbing parasites, a leach on Society. IMHO, the excuse of 'helping' landowners/protecting land is a lie (obviously they do NOT want drivers complying) and they rip off customers of real businesses right in front of their faces.

Astonishing more retailers don't wake up and smell the coffee. I know a retail park in Sussex that kicked out CEL due to complaints, and replaced them with UKPC. Honestly, what IS the point, and where is the retail park's due diligence or customer care for the poor victim drivers still going there?

  • Still shown as open on PE web site.

Now have second retailer requesting cancellation, and have got the name of the management company.

What wording do you recommend I use to the management company?

Just a complaint from the heart, in your own words (no template), saying your family were going to visit the place again but now this makes you all want to boycott the place entirely in 2018. State that it beggars belief that retail parks think it is OK to inflict notoriously aggressive firms from such a lowlife industry on shoppers, who can easily vote with their feet or shop online instead.

State that there is no excuse, no reason to inflict such harassment on shoppers and allow firms like this to sue people without any right of veto from the retail park to protect genuine patrons.

  • Well, written to the management company, and also to another retailer on site.
Just worked out how much money we have spent at the site over the past year, and the total has shocked me.
  • Is there any point in writing to my local MP about the duplicitous wording of the signs used in the car park?

(As in it should be "on site limited to 3 hours" and not "parking limited to 3 hours").

One thing I have found is that the local retailers don't really care about the misleading signs or about the breach of the BPA grace period guidelines.

Also it's lucky I kept the receipts of the shops we purchased from, they were pretty low ticket items and usually not kept, (well, all but one which has disappeared).

Every complaint to a MP about the way the private parking industry is acting is a worthwhile effort.

Ask your MP to support the Private Member’s Bill being put forward by Sir Greg Knight, which will attempt to bring some order to this out of control sector. The 2nd reading of the Bill will be on 2 February 2018.

    Done, hopefully every little helps.
  • The store that's the one with the receipt I haven't got has refused to help, even though I emailed a photo of the item.

We do not keep receipts for low value, in this case £10, items.

Maybe we will now, never know when you might need them or what for.

And everything goes on the card, no cash, can't prove anything when purchased with cash.

Hit them with some social media negative comment - Facebook/Twitter etc, they don’t like that!
