Three - Would you recommend them?

Sorry, no. You have to order one from three. Then register it on the three website. Yoc can order one with credit on it, or buy a voucher when it arrives0

If you are in a hurry you can pick up a Three 321 PAYG SIM in most of the large cheap shops for about 75p. Might be better than waiting for the post at this time of year.
If you want the 'Internet with Legs' card, it will need to come from Three.0 -
I have been very happy with my Three PAYG service.
I am less than happy that I recently received a text message announcing that its Android app that I had installed would stop working shortly and that I should download its new app.
I have auto-update set on my phone so if my current Three app needed replacement I should not have needed to take any action.
Worse the message asked me to download the new app not from Google Store by by clicking on a !!!!!! link. At first I assumed this was a bogus message but looking at the Three forums it seems that the message was genuine. This does make me worry about Three's regard for customers' security if it encourages them to take such risky action.
When I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app from Google Store the installation / set up failed repeatedly. I have left the app uninstalled.0 -
Would just like to add a post of praise for 3.
Having had nothing but two years of trouble from start to finish with Vodafone, Three are like a breath of fresh air !
Moved all the families phones to 3 Sim only £5 a month plans a year ago and haven't had one issue, everything required done correctly first time (you reading this Vodafone ?)
Just moved my daughters phone to ID Mobile (Carphone Warehouse/Three) as she uses more data. 2.25GB but still only £5 per month. No problems there either !0 -
Do you have the link to the new app and is it any different.
Cheers0 -
Disappointed that three don’t do visual voicemail, but now had my sim for around 3 months and and other than that I’m happy with them0

have tried most networks and three is the only one that seems relatively trouble free - only really use my phone for data but calls and text seem fine0

Not really. Network in some places have really poor capacity. As a result you can have excellent signal strength and virtually no internet access - Stansted airport is best example.
Roaming is 3G only and their traffic shaping is badly configured, works only for basic services. If you try to VPN to check your company e-mails or home surveillance - it doesn't work0
