Three - Would you recommend them?
Hi,
My contract with Vodaphone has just expired and after been with them on multiple contracts for about 10 years I’ve decided not to renew with them simply because of how awful their customer service is.
I’ve found a Sim only contract I like the look of with Three and I’m going to buy a new handset outright.
What’s Three’s reputation like in terms of Custer service? Has anyone ever had trouble logging onto the website, getting through to the call centres etc... Is there an app to monator usage?
Thanks in advance for any help

Was with them for about 7 years with no problems.
Decent app, ok customer service on the very few occasions I needed to contact them.
Have to say though, I moved from them as I bought a handset out right and got a better sim only deal with GiffGaff (unlimited* everything for £20).
*(9 gig at 4g then throttled after that)0 -
Yes - without a shadow of a doubt.
Customer service good, reliability good - no problems getting through but as with all call centres you can wait a bit at peak times - but never for a really long time.
Yes there is an app, usage, bills etc all on it.
Website always seems OK.0 -
I would suggest that you get a Three PAYG SIM to start with, in order to check coverage in your area.
Also, I assume that your phone is unlocked?0 -
As others have said no problems with Three.
I see a lot of people have coverage problems with Vodafone in my area, don`t seem to have any trouble with Three. I have only been with them for about a year and I haven`t had to contact them yet and I don`t see why I would have to either as everything is reasonably great quality.2017 Wins - Coco Pops, £100 Amazon voucher, Elf T-shirt, £250 Zalando Voucher and £250 FeelUnique Voucher, private gig concerts
2018 Wins - Steep xbox game, 2 tangle teezer, Contagion Book, JC Annual, water sports bottle, 10p, 2 cricket tickets, can of fizz, 10p, Ribenia, Johnson baby products0 -
Im on payg with three. Heard about people saying signal rubbish, but, iv not lost signal yet, in almost a year with them. Been with 02 and ee, and id say three is the best, and ee worst for signal, in my area anyway0

I'm on PAYG with Three, just about to leave them to go back to giffgaff. Mainly for signal issues, though the loss of the free 150MB with a top up was the final nail in the coffin. Undoubtedly their offers were better in the past whatever type of customer you are (All You Can Eat data days) but still some good value to be had.
For my use they're probably still the best value, but I earned some payback with giffgaff that I took as airtime credit so it won't be costing me anything for the time being.0 -
Thank you. I think I’ll give them a go. But I’ll check to see if there’s any coverage issues in my area first.0

Why not use the mobile data reward sim in ur phone. I have, and i get the payg 321 rates, plus 200mb free every month, no top up required. Ideal for light users like me. Even though it is a data sim it works fine in your phone as well. Even though three say it wont work, it does0

So port your number onto a 3 PAYG SIM or month by month contract SIM first. If you have signal problems then try GiffGaff instead (uses the O2 infrastructure).0
