Great news on the PPI! And on PA, well done!
Do something for yourself for your birthday. Skive off work and do something for youPaid - 7095/26218 - Total0 -
Good idea Coffee, but my birthday is Monday and I don't work Mondays! I will have the two smallest ones with me all day so can't see me getting any peace and quiet to myself then. I'll probably go out for a meal either Sunday or Monday with the kids but that will be it.
I love Prolific. I have the page open on my browser at work and keep refreshing! I don't want to miss any studies!0 -
It was the storm that woke me up too which is why I was posting at 4.38 haha. I went and googled prolific straight after LOL. I hope you do get a little something from the kids, my parents are divorced and always got something from us for each other even though it wasn't that amicable between them. It's very sad when people are like that because you deserve a special day x0

To be honest, my oldest normally buys something for me from her own wages and seeing as she got paid today, she will have some money. In the past I have given the kids some of my own money and they have gone shopping and bought me stuff. It's my first ever birthday when I have been by myself and I am really not looking forward to it.
I always make my kids buy their dad something even if I have to give them the money myself. But he doesn't bother doing the same for me.0 -
I think that's disgusting
but so lovely that your daughter will get you a little something , shows how thoughtful you've brought them up to be. I suppose it just makes you look like the bigger person with getting him something - and the kids will see that

I know Storm. It really winds me up as well that he doesn't bother saying to the kids about a present for me. I make sure he has presents from them and I think one of the presents for his birthday, I went out and bought because I know him so well and know what he would like.
I will remind the kids today about my birthday and the oldest all have pocket money so they have no excuse not to buy me anything!
I'm at work at the moment and bored out of my mine. Not got much to do as I am so up to date but I am covering the office so can't go home in case the phone rings! I have been refreshing Prolific all day but no studies today. Anyone know of any sites like prolific that aren't necessarily surveys as I get so fed up with the survey sites!
Also I want to be home and updating my spreadsheets and working out when I can pay more off my debt! My target debt is at £208 and I want to pay off that £8 so much :rotfl:0 -
I think prolific is one on it's own sadly, I'm sure we'd have heard about it if there was something similar. Do you do e-rewards surveys for nectar points? They're good and add up quickly - and can be spent in Argos and Debenhams etc.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

I can totally identify with this situation - it can be a lonely place raising children on your own!
You totally seem to be setting the right example to your kids and that is wonderful, keep on doing what you're doing and I know your kid will see everything you've done for them (albeit when they're older and definitely NOT on out timelines!!).
I am a solo parent with an ex who lives HIS life to the full and rarely is involved with his children. So I always set myself up for a lovely day on my birthday - the day before I buy myself some flowers (love fresh flowers even if only from L1dl!!), put on fresh linen on my bed, I get up twenty minutes earlier than i normally do and have a quiet "first" cup of lovely coffee of the day - I give thanks for my kids asleep upstairs, the fact that I make daily choices everyday to be a fab Mum and be a good example and live my life peacefully and without having to argue with my ex!!!!:bdaycake::bdaycake:
So here's an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! x You are doing an ace job!0 -

Thanks working mum, I think I will get myself something to celebrate my day. I love the idea of some flowers and putting fresh sheets on my bed and getting up earlier and the kids! I think I will definitely take some of your advice!0
