  • Thanks coffee, I don't feel like I am doing that well but when I see it written down, all the little bits add up!

That's good to know m2m. I will certainly use an Amazon voucher and seem to be adding up the points quite quickly. I've only been using shoppix for two weeks and shopprize for less than that do if I can get to a £5 voucher on both of those in around a month, I would be happy with that.

I think I wanted to see how quickly the money came from prolific and I wasn't doing very well on there until someone said they just checked the website rather than waiting for the emails. I will see how long it takes me to get to £20 and maybe next time I'll wait until then.

Just having a ten minute break before I get back in with my list. I tend to set a timer on my phone for 15minutes and I rush round doing as much as I can, then rest or browse on here for 15 minutes before going again. That way I feel like I am getting stuff done but still resting!

Absolutely check PA for surveys throughout the day, if you wait to get their emails you'll miss out on several opportunties. Same with e-rewards if you do that, just use an email that they've sent you already even if you've done it and it will open up another survey if there's one available.
Sorry, thought I'd said that Shopprize was a £5 AGC but it might have been on Coffee's thread so could have got lost. They come through instantly when you claim too which is nice.
Three floors of house here too, and I'm a master of a basket on each flight of stairs to minimise going up and down empty-handed.

  • Thanks Joey, I have been checking prolific throughout the day. I just logged on using my daughter's laptop and it was showing five studies, did the first one on the list and the rest had gone by the time I had finished

Also I may have missed about shopprize, I tend to read very quickly and miss stuff sometimes! That's good that it arrives straight away. I have a basket on Amazon saved of bits for my son's birthday at the end of February. I think it totals about £20 but I already have a £10 voucher so another £10 and that's a few more birthday bits for him sorted.

I tend not to go up to the top floor that often. My eldest has that bedroom and ensuite and only go up there if I need I wake he up or go to the printer. Consequently it's a right mess up there and the landing needs a lot of work. Not sure it will get done today though. Although I might drag her up there to help me sort it after school as she owes me for paying for her prom dress!

Shopprize is quite fast to build up. Don't forget to log in each day for hte 60 points. Also if you split your shopping into more than one lot, more receipts. (each receipt is the same number of points, regardless of value.) I may have also "accidentally" picked up receipts already in the trolley from the previous customer. Don't forget to also use receipts from petrol/deisel. Every little helps! M2m.

  • Oh I have been doing receipts from everything. One day I got to my limit so I kept the receipts and scanned them the next day. I couldn't remember which one I did so I did them both again!

You say boys are easy to buy clothes for, I was such a huge pain!!! My clothes have to fit me absolutely perfectly, like around the arms, and around the body, any looseness in the wrong places I am not interested... I also love to go shopping and get sneakers, jeans etc. :) I think I went shopping with mum more than my sister, also mens clothes are super expensive, like 1 pair of sneakers can be £150+. I feel like women can shop in the sales etc more, but for guys there are few sales plus mens clothing is typically more branded & expensive, e.g. as a guy you cant buy unbranded trainers, that's just the weird kid.

I hope your son goes prom charliestribe - my prom is something I remember to this day! We all went to my friends who has this beautiful big house, with huge trees outside. We had a good mix of girls and boys and we lined up girl boy outside for the pics, had plenty of drinks before hand, then had a big limo pick us up and take us to the place. We had everyones parents over, it was nice to see my mum super happy and all excited! The setting just photographed so well... My mum paid for me to have my hair done at some fancy hair salon and I had a full restyle, I remember loving my new hair and feeling so confident! If I'm honest it kinda worries me they aren't involved in the prom (well the girl at least), my kids are going to prom do or die hahaha... I was really loud and crazy in school though, played a lot of sports, was never home, always at a girlfriends or out with friends. Usually in trouble of some kind, not really with school just with other kids. So sound the total opposite of your kids.

Mumof500kids (hehe just kidding) - hope your daughter has a lovely prom!!

I think as parents as long as your children are happy and as healthy as they can be, then it's all you can ask for. And Camz, I'm sure you're the first person to know that there's a limit to how much a parent can make you do something - especially at 16 and 18 :rotfl:

DS1 is 6ft 4" with long legs, broad shoulders and a 31 inch waist - rugby player, swimmer, plays guitar and sings solo and in a band, DJs, acts - so he knows what he wants but doesn't follow the crowd and the suits were bought and then fitted by a local tailor, which worked out perfectly and as a result he had practically custom made suits both times. He was happy - I'm happy.

Thanks Camz, I am sure my daughter will have a lovely time and I sometimes do wonder if I have 500 kids. We often have extras staying round which I like in a way as it means my kids feel comfortable enough for their friends to come round.

Also I obviously don't know about buying for teenage boys yet, my eldest old us only 9 and at the moment the biggest issue I have with buying clothes for him is finding ones that are skinny enough but long enough as he is tall and lanky. I'll look forward to the day where the only stuff he wants is branded stuff.
  • So, today was busy and although I have just sat down, it's only for a little while as I still have more to do tonight to make the morning easier.

Today I have dropped kids at nursery and breakfast club, gone to work, picked up prom dress, picked up kids, got home, cooked dinner, updated bank spreadsheet, paid a bit off my debts as well this morning.

I also had my first cash out from prolific hit the bank today which was good and I've got about another £11 on there already. Going to wait until £20 this time so I don't have to pay any fees.
