The kind that gets an angry rude response from someone that’s paid to serve customers in a polite manner. Simples.

Rudeness rarely comes from nothing though. A simple "sorry to bother you, will there be any more baked items put out?" Is unlikely to have received a rude response.

So going back to the actual question on the original thread was for advice on how to move forward.
Don't shop in Lidl again, problems solved.
  • unfortunately, none of these responses are in direct response to my request for advice on how to move forward, not start a debate on legalities on recording judging me, when not knowing me etc, advice, pure and simple. As this is the first ever forum that i have used for anything, it's a shame it was met with such negativity and judgement.

Have a wonderful Xmas/hanukkah or holidays for the athiests, and a great 2018, but I am outta here to live my life forum free from trolls

Exactly Spadoosh, it is incredibly unreasonable to kick me out for that. But that’s not what I said. I also didn’t say I expected a CS desk or expect staff to be on hand for ‘customer service’ It was his attitude to my very calm questions that that got me to record, as proven, to back myself up. I didn’t record from the start. If I intended to ‘look out for an argument’ as you state, then it would already have been posted all over social media, however after 2 weeks, hasn’t been resolved. Thus I am now asking for advice not criticism. There was also no argument, I was asking questions to which he got offended to, after kicking me and my children out I walked away, without a single argument. I recorded to back up as I have a poor memory and I have NEVER recorded in this way before.

The fact is there is NO police that was requested or present and the police station is right across the store, but why would there be if I didn’t act in a criminal way? Otherwise I would have had.a knock on the door by now, even asking the police for details of the ‘crime’ they have no record.

So going back to the actual question on the original thread was for advice on how to move forward.

    How to move forward?

Well your banned from the store until they decide otherwise. Theyre allowed to ban you. Theyre allowed to choose whether to follow up a complaint or not and have chose not to at the moment. Thats suggest your only option moving forward is shopping elsewhere.

The reason i raised the points i did is because its not uncommon for rudeness to be met with rudeness. You say his attitude wasnt right. Do you not think he could say the same of your attitude?

Youve done things i would consider extremely rude. The nature you went about raising your queries. Ie questioning why there where no staff about (one you had one dealing with you), you then went on to ask about your genuine query which is fair enough and when you go tan answer you didnt like (its hard to know how rude they where im assuming your trying to suggest they where really rude because you used the word 'coz' however as its put it sounds like a perfectly reasonable answer, what other better answer as to why something isnt in stock than 'because (coz) they are sold'? And of course ultimately deciding recording someone was a good way of doing things, its a pretty strong threat, it basically screams comply to my demands or i will put you on social media, now tell me how would you react to that?

If it makes you feel any better i worked in customer services for quite a long time. I would always say sorry to customers. It was only on extremely rare occasions that i meant it, i doubt most people would be truly sorry because you couldnt get baked goods. Personally i dont require someone to apologise for things which in all likelihood are beyond their control.

So after visiting my local Lidl (10 miles away) in order to feed my kids, I couldn't find any staff to ask when the fresh baked goods were due out as it was 12:15pm lunch time. So my first question after I had to go to the checkout and request a staff member to ask, out came, who turned out to be the manager. When I asked why there was no staff member to ask after waiting and looking for 5 minutes, he quite rudely said "coz were busy" Whats actually wrong with this? Was it really necessary to ask why there was nobody randomly wandering around to help you in a budget supermarket? Them being busy is a totally reasonable reply to a bit of a stupid question.... So then I asked why there was no fresh baked food out at a lunch time period, he quite abruptly said "coz there sold"! That's it, no..."i'm sorry sir, we're really busy, or, unfortunately they have sold out but more will be out at..?? o'clock" Well, they were sold out. Maybe other people had flocked the 10 miles before you to feed their children first! You dont need an apology for that. Its a statement of fact. Nope, very rude and because I questioned him, and asked for his name he told me he had WASTED 10 minutes of his time on me and asked me to leave. YES, that's right, with me and my two children, he kicked us out and banned me. He refused to give me his name and wasn't wearing his name badge, as per company policy (but this can be forgiven). Yes this is obviously exactly how this bit of the conversation went down. When exactly did you get out your phone to film him? After he told you the baked goods were sold out? After you asked for his name because he was so rude? Hmmm

Help, all I want, is an apology and the ban lifted, that shouldn't have been applied, and carry on with life.

Tough. Lidl don't want your custom. You'll have to find somewhere else top feed your kids. May I suggest Waitrose, or Filmore and Union? Even Marks and Sparks usually has a few staff kicking about...

Looks like people have already judged me before asking for the video! The horse has bolted I’m afraid.

Im guessing the video was filmed by you?

Im also assuming you arent particularly stupid, as such i would imagine youre not about to go on a film, you are clearly anticipating using in a complaint, and make yourself look bad.

What tends to happen in those instances is...

poke.... .poke...... poke..... poke.....poke <snap>..... ooo quick get the camera out, theyre shouting at me!

The fact that you make yourself look unreasonable in your own version of events is all i need thanks.

    1. Forget this incident ever happened.
    2. Do not enter Lidl premises again
    3. Emporia such as Aldi, Asda, Co-op, M & S, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose, etc. will help you to feed your kids. Find out where your nearest one is situated.
    4. Do not argue with supermarket managers (or film them, you are not Alfred Hitchcock)
