To all asking about son's arm, thank you. He's feeling less pain now, unless he tries to use it, and can toilet himself when wearing school trousers, so he's happy!

I however, having only just recovered from the flu, have come home today with laryngitis...

I had to spend 59p today on some dispersable aspirin, but I guess that's better than a prescription charge. What are they now? £200?!!!!

I've plenty of food in but it's whether I have the energy to cook it... I'll see how I am, and I won't feel bad if I buy pizza from ffoods for the children's dinner.

I guess I'll be at home for the rest of the week now, which should mean I don't spend anything. However, I will be using more electricity for the tv and kettle, heating and toilet roll. Oh, and loads of tissues!

    Meh.

Maybe I can spend the next few days decluttering my free view box of all the things I've recorded and not watched! That's good use of time, right?!!

Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending
  • Been a funny week as staying with a friend after they have had a knee op. Ferrying them around in their car so been several nsds and hardly used my car.
My 0% credit card offer finishes this month so applied for new 0% card till 2018 which has now come. Will be transferring balance tomorrow.
This month has been extremely tight but iv survived! I get paid on 21st so looking at budget set see if I can reduce anything. It was estimates as iv moved into new place I know know council tax and water rates which are cheaper than expected!
My cars has started to make weird noises so im going to have a search tomorrow for breakdown cover, just incase!

Hope everyone is coping OK in the winter weather. Revert to stockpiles rather than risk any unnecessary travel and add an extra layer to help keep warm, if needs must. We have win#ter thunder, blustering wind and snow
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I am not doing so well with the Food budget and forgot about Muscle Foods regular order. So already blown the Food budget, and Dgd has had two McD that were not planned for.
The Aldi Shop today is going to have to be the bare essentials for packup.
Good job we have a year to adjust it all in.

  • Afternoon all, still wrestling with the pesky budgets !! Had a good morning at the stove, invested in a piece of gammon - it's been baked, stock frozen, fat rendered down ( I use this for frying veg n meat when making casseroles etc as it makes it taste like there is bacon in it !!). This afternoons job - apart from budgets, supper etc - is to recover my ironing board ..... It's a real state with the 2 previous covers hanging off !! Have also tried to resurrect my sourdough starter, will report back tomorrow !! Happy frugalling everyone

    Afternoon folks

Very wintry here as well today :(

Budgets going okay atm, except the leccy bills may be up a bit as it's been soo cold and unfortunately we are all electric here.

We were planning to go bowling and then for a meal for my birthday, but decided against it due to the weather. Maybe able to go next week instead.

So eating out of the freezer here atm, to save having to shop. Really glad managed to get fresh 'stuff' at the weekend and should be okay until at least the weekend coming.

Hope you're all staying warm and safe

    lynnejk Happy Birthday xx
  • Happy birthday lynnejk. spent a fair bit on groceries this week, but now have a fully stocked freezer, cupboards and larder. This will last me at least 3 -4 weeks.

Got my cats food on buy one get one half price so that will last a couple of months. Treats are all bought for, for my cat most of them were Christmas presents from family. So they will last for the year so I don’t need to buy her anymore. I’ve got to take her for her booster next week but that money’s put by already.

It’s very cold down here, had snow last night but it didn’t settle. But my raynauds is acting up due to temperature.
