I gave up using Champix tablets from the GP, but didn't complete the course as I found I was forgetting to take them and still not reaching for the cigs after a few weeks.
My OH took up vaping as his method of quitting. I've started to nag him as he's still using it after almost 5 years !!! He has reduced the nicotine content, but I still think he should be off them by now..... On the plus side, he reckons the money he's saved by switching from cigs to self-mixed vaping paid for his (bought from new) car.Cheryl0 -
Looking back at this year it has been a very difficult year for me since my Mum died in December 2017. I know that some of the spending has been emotional spending. Also I got rid of a very toxic friendship which affected my spending. Have done positive things for myself this year and got some positive plans for next year.
Wishing everyone a Happy and frugal 2019.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -

I'm in. I've been lurking for a year and ready to make some serious lifestyle changes. Great spreadsheet by the way. I look forward to using it as I adopt a more frugal lifestyle.Saving for first home > LISA > Goal (£15000)>£3000 = 20%
Emergency fund savings (£3000)/£300 = 10%
Save 12k in 2019 #56 Goal>(£8000)/£0 = 0.0%
£2 Savers Club 2018 no.1 Goal>(£200)/£0 = 0.0%0 -
I've decide to try using cash rather than my card. I was watching through some Dave Ramsey videos on YouTube and it was suggested that using cash makes you think more about what you are spending. I am going to get a couple of additional coin purses (possibly from Amazon once I have built up enough swagbucks for the next voucher) to separate out my budgets.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0
