you should give yourself a massive pat on the back as they are IMPRESSIVE NUMBERS!!! well done!

It's the change in your mindset which is tangible and you should be proud of that. It's all within your control.

    ((hugs))

Aw, I am so pleased for you, spudsmum, I'm proud to have you on the frugal living team! Getting that happy feeling at every little frugal success is an awesome feeling - I love it! :D

FrankieM - Embrace the weirdness! At the end of the day, we are the happy-go-lucky ones with the ultimate freedom to do exactly whatever we want to do with our money, no matter how absurd it may seem to others. Trust me when I say that I buy (or invest in) some of the wackiest things ever! I mean, look at the Frugaldom outdoor project! Only I could be crazy enough to buy a woodland with no trees and have to start from scratch planting them! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: 5000+ planted and the very first ones are now big enough to see! :D The wild flowers are amazing but the locals think I'm some sort of eco-warrior, tree hugging, horse hippy. :o

indigowarrior I love your plan. Such a great idea to see the numbers assigned like that.

Spudsmum You've given me a nudge to get an emergency fund in pace. I've been focusing on overpayments but I've been thinking for a while that not having an emergency fund is a little short sighted so after I've bought my flights and paid those off that's the next focus.

Lovely and sunny here though I've spent most of it in the office. :( And I'm poorly. I thought it was hayfever but it's definately a cold so I'm pushing through and stocking up on (economical) drugs and tissues.
I don't get sick pay so no taking time off work. I need to see the next 2 days and then rest and sleep on the weekend. This is where the emergency fund would come in. :/

Windscreen repaired and you can now hardly see it. Fingers crossed it passes the mot on Monday.

Doing the Aldi shop after work. I've increased my food budget because DS is home for the summer and contributing. I'm hoping for £30is but no more than £40 a week.

I have not been following along, life once again put me in a tailspin and I am worse now than ever.
The debts are higher not lower as once again I have bailed out offspring and hit depression, comfort spending, eating out a lot, shopping daily or regularly at the Express shop.
Been working later and not following any of my plans. I had a brilliant life journal for both business and life, but it got put away several months ago and I didn't have the dissapline to follow through.
    I need to start again.
Go back to basic with my budget, my menus and my work life balance.
I am determined that I will get it right one of these days as I was doing so well a few years back, and I should have been able to continue the journey but I am too soft with my adult children and I spend when depressed.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Am I missing something, as I thought there were only 6 months left in the year?
    Wishing you well. :)
So do I but Frugaldom said there was seven. I might have my wires crossed though. :rotfl:

I think Frugaldom said that at the beginning of June, and we are now at the end - it has gone really quickly, hasn't it ? So, from beginning of July till end of December = 6 months. Does that make sense?

Yes, 7 months left was said almost a month ago, I just assumed you had counted in June as one of your months if you are basing it on monthly income. It's payday for many today, so that would mean 7 paydays until the end of the year - perhaps that's how you counted it, Indigowarrior ?

It's been so hot here than I have hardy managed to get any planting done - it is taking all my time just to move, water everything and stop from melting! I have holidaymakers booked in from this weekend so caravan needs prepared tomorrow. I have student booked in this weekend so spare room needs prepared. I have volunteer hoping to get here next week and still need to organise accommodation for them, so my grocery budget is going to be adjusted accordingly, as there will be at least 4 of us to feed - that's £28 per week so I may simplify it and make it £120 for the month of July. I already stocked up on things like pasta, rice etc. and the hens are all laying, so there are plenty of eggs.

  • Mooloo you have done this before and you can do it again. Deep breath, take the first step and be kind to yourself. You are important and you are worth the effort.

If you were to choose one habit to change first, what would it be?
