Morning everyone
This is a bit of a quiet thread that then gets a rush of activity. It's good to hear how everyone is going.
My 'frugalling' isn't that successful to be honest. I seem tweek my plans monthly but have yet to find the plan that really works for me so it's a difficult one.
I've got a credit card balance that needs paying off this month and while most is covered by what's in my bank account some of it will be paid off with next month's money. It reminds me of my married life when we constantly paid for the previous months outgoings with the current months income. It was so easy to blame the ex but I see that I'm prone to it if I don't keep on top of things.
July is also buy my ticket to Australia month. it's going to cost me about £1000. Much more than previous years and much more than I'd budgeted (when I say budgeted I mean in my head because there's no actual real life money for it yet. Another one for the credit card!)
So come payday, on Wednesday, I need to move my money around and see where I'm a with it all.

Spent today getting the washing done and line dried. Now all put away.
I've also worked out lunches and teas for up until Wednesday evening. The fridge is now looking very bare.
I'm generally feeling pretty grumpy. I can't believe I've let myself get into this situation. The next 6 months have to be better. I have to be better.0 -
No 44 here.....I haven't kept a real track on things but I think I'm doing ok.
I shall be moving house soon and will be incurring quite a few expenses but I shall definitely be reading and posting more often from now on. My budget is going to be very tight so I have started really tracking my spending now.
Well done Madam Mim on being debt free.

Good luck with your house move, LessonLearned, I hope everything goes smoothly and that you love your new lifestyle of frugaldom from day 1 in a different house - like a new beginning

FrankieM, no point beating yourself up over things as every tomorrow is a new start that determines where we're heading. Focus on getting your ticket to Australia and write yourself a report on your frugaling attempts. If you can see where changes need to be made and you know who needs to make the changes then you're halfway there. The next setp is making minor alterations to the way you do things so you can reap the rewards. I always have to set myself goals and challneges - normally far too many of them at the same time - in order to stay on the straight and narrow. I can't really deviate too much nowadays as I have 3 ponies to keep and want to save for more land. I also want to save for a holiday but decided that I could make life my holiday, so I used my tax rebate to buy a round tent.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Well done MadamM2013, fantastic news X
Chin up FrankieM, you're still here and planning for better times - to me that's 1/2 the battle.
Still working on new budgets here, my previous ones were just not right - masses of work and almost doomed to failure from the start. For me it's better to change some of my priorities , not wear a hair shirt and potentially make everyday a miserable struggle ! I appreciate I'm very fortunate to be able to make these choices. Looking forward to a stunning second half of 2018......,,
Ps Frugaldom that's brilliant " make my life my holiday" do you mind if Isteal that for my mantra ? XxJourney on the Frugal Wagon to Self Reliance.
