Hi All,
I've had a few issues with my local Tesco recently with items being priced incorrectly on a regular basis out of date stock prominent and food items damaged , only there are no other shops close to me I'd vote with my feet. Has anyone had any success complaining to Tesco?

Yes, I've only had cause to once, but that was only a couple of weeks ago.
I bought a yellow stickered item, which turned out to have already gone off despite being on the last day of its 'best before'. I phoned Tesco, told them the problem, they sent me out a gift card for the amount I'd paid (which wasn't pennies, it was yellow stickered but had been expensive to start out with) plus an extra quid for the inconvenience.
The guy on the phone was polite and helpful, I'd definitely ring them if you have a genuine issue.0 -
Write to the manager of the store and give him actual examples and dates.
He may be unaware of the issues.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
You could mention it to customer services/duty manger/manager, dont hold your breath that they would do anything different though0

I sent a quick email off the main office yesterday, the Manager of the store called me today and we were on the phone for 40 minutes going through issues which he upheld including items priced wrongly and on some occasions taking between 10-15 minutes to correct. I can't help but feel a bit like an internal audit with the Manager offering an apology advising that I have been completely let down.0

Couldn't you ask the Manager for a gift voucher as a goodwill offering?0

I once took several packs of chicken back to Tesco as, though they were in date by many days, they stank to high heaven when I opened them. A couple of packs had been put in the freezer but they went back too as they were from the same batch. Customer service refunded me with no problem, but the next day I saw the packs which had been returned, but were unopened (2 of which had also been frozen), in the yellow stickered section. So they sold food they knew was off, some of which had been frozen and defrosted! Any wonder I no longer shop at Tesco!0 -
My husband was on first name terms with the manger of our local store. Every week he complained about some pricing error.
The prices are sent by head office and th store just out the goods on th shelf and add the price ticket.
One day they had three flavours of their own cans of juice. All had the same price but each proce per item was different................but none of them were correct.
The duty manager said he was sick of this happening.
Last week he spoke to staff about bottles of milk that had obviously been drooped and were filthy. The member of staff was horrified that they had been put out for sale and immediately took steps to remove them.
Complain at the time to the duty manager.0
