Thanks for the advice - loads to take in!!
The responses from the lawyers were very slow one over a month. I mentioned this in my defence.

One simple question please - an I likely to actually go to court to defend myself? Or are these normally settled via mail and phone?

On the bright side I feel I'm getting an education in law!

it only is on track for a hearing at your local court if the DQ part is done and the PPC pays the hearing fee , plus if you have refused mediation ( so no to email and no to phone)

you can read the timeline of events by reading the BARGEPOLE post linked in the NEWBIES sticky thread , post #2

that post #2 needs to be your go to bible from now on, most questions have been answered before and all the best info is in that post #2
  • Hi again I have been sent the dq part and am about to respond saying I am willing to do mediation. At this point the chargesbit says I am liable for is £770, if this goes on can I be liable for more than that?
    Thanks again

Why are you ticking the box for mediation when the clear advice in the NEWBIES thread about completing the DQ, is NOT to agree to Mediation. You do need to read post #2 of the NEWBIES sticky thread again...
At this point the charges bit says I am liable for is £770, if this goes on can I be liable for more than that?
Nope, for 4 £100 PCNs you are only potentially liable for 4 x £100 plus around fifty quid in court fees. They make it up in the claim because people don't know, and idiots pay more than they need to because they are scared. Adding £60 to each PCN is not justified.

You need to read the NEWBIES thread and read other threads like yours to learn more & be ready.

  • That's great thanks I did read that again after posting and will not tick that box. I think I'm good now to return the DQ and defend my case. I appreciate all the help.
    Fingers crossed!

Ok so my case details went to Basingstoke they were then sent on to slough county court "by order". I guess this means that ukpc requested this and are now intending to go through with the hearing in person?

I also have some further evidence in the form of a photo showing how unclear the parking was in the site. Does anyone know if this will be admissible in the hearing?

    TIA

the case should be at YOUR choise of court , not there choise

PS: who is the "law firm" you refer to? " but the law firm said that they were not taken at the time and you could see some good lines in the background "

The order will simply be the local courts deciding how to divvy up cases, on the basis that Slough is nearer for you. UKPC have no say in this because they are a company claimant and you are a litigant-in-person, and the court will be your nearest.
I also have some further evidence in the form of a photo showing how unclear the parking was in the site. Does anyone know if this will be admissible in the hearing?
Have you already submitted your Witness Statement and evidence, as per the letter from the court naming the court & hearing date?
