#119 reporting a slightly disappointing £666.57 for February, which I have already put into the update sheet. Would have been a lot better, but had to replace a timing belt and water pump on the car that was failing and pay for airport parking for my hols next week. That was nearly £500 lost. Expecting a negative month in March due to the aforementioned holiday, so need to kick on in April!0

I have found myself quite short on ideas to put my savings. My Nationwide Regular Saving matured in January, and need a new home for it. I recently opened TSB Regular saver (only 2% interest) but still need more places to put them, I'm reluctant to put more into P2P as I already have a lot there and I can't seem to find the right account for me. Any advice appreciated.
I used to have Nationwide FlexDirect earning 5% on £2,500 which is now expired, is it possible to re-open this? If so how?
£658.10 saved, split as below:
HTB ISA - £200
RS - £250
P2P - £208.10
£1,199.41 saved in February!
ISA portfolio was down -2.2% in February, just a small bump on a very long-term track.
HT ISA - £200
P2P - £165.36
Other cash accounts - £834.05

A disappointing...month. . £550 abortive legal fees, £500 service and MOT (on top of the actual fee I paid for these things in December) and a holiday booked and budgeted for. None paid with debt (except budgeted money on credit cards for the cashback). .
Under those circumstances I think a pat on the back is well deserved!Save 12 k in 2018 challenge member #79

Hi all,
No. 132 reporting £203.14 for February. Quite low as I had car repairs of £245. This month will be low as well as I'm moving and starting a new job mid month so just half the salary.#220 -
Well done all. Bit of a mixed month for me. Did a load of overtime last month, but also had some expenses to pay out on. Two holidays booked, well one is a week long training camp in Spain with the bike club, and another is an Ironman in the summer, so I use the term holiday loosely :-). Both now fully paid for out of my debit account though, so no extra debt accrued. I put a couple of hundred onto the credit cards, and then I have put £500 into the ISA. I'm nearly at the stage now where my ISA = my debt, so I'm going to just trickle the credit cards down this year whilst focusing on rapidly building the savings. Should it be needed, the debt can be gone tomorrow, and it is on a 0% card until 2019, so no cost to me.
Total now as per signature, so on target for the 6k by the year end. Another big dollop of overtime done for March's payslip, but have car insurance and servicing to cover which will take £700 or so. I then have a load more overtime booked for this coming month, so April should be a good one with all bills paid bar the motorbike insurance in May. It's a bit of an extravagance, but it's my toy and I love it. Just need the snow to clear off now and spring to arrive so I can get the leathers on and hit the lanes :-)
All in all a positive start to the year. Nice to feel like I am finally now getting my house in order!0 -
#11 with £4,938.76 for February - couldn't quite reach £5k in the month, but one of my best savings months ever, I think.
Total of £7,252.76 for the year to date and March has started well too, but I think Spring will be tougher going so nice to get off to a good start - usually i'm playing catch-up later in the year.0
