Firstly, I just have to say that I find the troll-like responses to the OP and the extent of victim-shaming posts in this thread appalling. It leaves me suspicious about their motives and indeed who employs some of them. I agree with a previous comment that these particular posts only add to the problem rather than emancipate it, and if you have suffered at the hands of this company then I applaud you for trying to hold them accountable. If more people had the courage and inclination to do this then maybe standards would start to improve. Just because this company has attempted to limit its liability, it does not change the fact that it has breached these contracts and therefore people are rightfully peeved.

I had shipped a number of individual packages, under one booking, last year through Parcel2Go (DPD being the courier). All were collected at the same time and without incident. One of the packages ended up lost and all others were irreparably damaged. P2G's service throughout has been appalling. I only ever received one (entirely unhelpful) email; no updates with regards to lost item; and a patronising response through Resolver using my first name at the end of a sentence (nice). In my opinion, and in relation to my case, the company has shown signs of deception. I am concerned about other claims I have read too.

I am proceeding with a claim through the small claims court. If anyone else has suffered, remember that you can contact the Citizens Advice Bureau in the first instance, even if you feel that you cannot afford legal advice. Also as suggested in another post, Resolver is a free tool and whilst it did not provide me personally with a resolution, the case file has helped me prepare for my court action and communications (or lack of) with the company will be documented and may just help you in the future. I would try and limit the emotion shown in any communications as much as you can, as it can cloud otherwise valid arguments. Be as factual and precise as you can, and remember that UK legislation is easily accessible online (the CAB should be able to help point you to the relevant sections if needed). I also recommend printing out the T&Cs and associated prohibited items etc. lists as soon as you possibly can (ideally at the time of booking) as they update them regularly. Wishing any other aggrieved P2G customers the best of luck in your claims.

So you are getting straight in with everyone who disagrees works for the company. :rotfl:

So simple question. This thread has existed for near 2 years, yet the company is still going and people are still using them.
So, you happily chose to use a 3rd party over going direct no doubt on price.
    Did you research them first?

    1. Nope. You even highlighted in red that I mentioned 'some of' (the troll-like/victim-shaming posters) not 'everyone who disagrees'. There's a vast difference and I actually feel a little embarrassed for that emoji . Incidentally, this kind of deceptive/misleading comment is very similar to ones that P2G have made.

    2. I am quite sure this company has been breaching contracts for longer than this thread has been in existence. Many negligent businesses are still in operation. I guess the multitude of people, regardless of any warnings, think 'it won't happen to me' and that's even if they have the time to research every single company thoroughly, for every single transaction (you may have the time for this extent of research prior - I certainly don't). And I have no doubt that they do actually get it right too. However, I don't see how this negates (or justifies) them breaching their contracts in any way.

    3. The amount I paid for the service has no bearing on my legal rights (both contractual and statutory). But as you asked, I am happy to answer: No. Try going on to the DHL site and book directly for example, I'm pretty sure you'll find it's easier to book on one of the platforms. I have used various - parcelmonkey etc etc. Incidentally, I have recently discovered EcoParcel (that came up whilst googling european courier services) and having used them twice since P2G (naturally I will never use them again), they have been fantastic. Had I not contracted with P2G in good faith, and chosen to research beforehand, I may have discovered the stark contrast in reviews and gone straight with EcoParcel to begin with. If P2G wasn't making sufficient money from the amounts they charge then, as you have pointed out, they wouldn't still be in business. In fact, P2G's last publically reported turnover was £56m in 2017.

    4. See above.

If booking with DHL directly is easier, then once again why choose a 3rd party carrier? Price can be the only factor.
Note this 2 year thread is only 65 posts long inclusive of mine for a £56M turnover it doesnt seem much.
How many damaged/lost parcels have you had with Ecoparcel?

Suggest you read the posts properly before commenting.. You’re not doing yourself (or P2G) any favours with these bogus replies.

I can vouch for the fact that custardy (nor I) work for P2G.
You're just making yourself look silly now.

I use them a lot, sure we've had our fall outs over stupid issues with parcels - but at the end of the day, they're cheap and get the job done most of the time.

I agree with AW FRONT. Used them dozens of times and fed up with the cons and deceit

Latest one is they took my money and insurance premium, never collected the parcel and now its over 28 days they say they will keep my money and not refund it anyway

    Will never use them again
Do yourself a favour and try elsewhere it will be worth a few pence or a pound extra for no hassles :(

    This company really sucks.

They first lost my parcel, then discovered it only after I chased them several times, promised to inform me of its progress, never did, then lost it again, found it only after I chased them every 4 days, then it finally arrived 8 WEEKS later (should have taken ten days).

I was promised "substantial compensation" by their own rep. IN WRITING but then they reneged on this saying they don't pay compensation and offered me a ten pound voucher against another of their services. Their chat service is the only way to reach them if things go wrong but the staff can only mouth what the script says and they can basically just deny everything. I wouldn't touch them now, they are obviously cheap for a reason - if you want hassle, delays and broken promises, use this company.

Oh, and don't trust their extra insurance either, they can renege on that as there's all sort of terms they use to wriggle out of it (eg. so long as the parcel is delivered some time in 12 months then it's delivered!).

The worst bit is, you can only chat to them online. Perhaps that's to protect their staff from the deluge of angry customers they must get.

Next step for me, the small claims Court - and all this over 21 pounds! Imagine what they would do if your claim was for a lot more?

'They' dont deliver any parcels. So you need to clarify that one a bit more.
  • Do not use 'Parcel2go' or DX Delivery

A simple job - pick up a parcel from an Ebay sellers address and deliver it to my home

    Couldn't make it up !!!

    After a 1 month of -
Sorry you're having problems... blah blah blah
We'll sound as if we're here to help but... blah blah blah
Going to string you along till you give up... blah blah blah

My Parcel has now been delivered to the neighbour of the pick up address !!!

Their incompetence knows no limit !!!
