Been to Blackpool today...too tired to type more...lets just say we set off form here about 2.30 and got in at 10pm. I'm off to bed
What was the traffic like nicki - we were heading there about the same time but after queues at J16 & 17 we got on at J20 then there came up a sign to say there was congestion between J26 & J31 so we went to Southport instead and the kids went on the fair there so they were happy!NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Thanks for all the good luck messages
Right, quick one from me, just finished packing in our bedroom, DP on his way to get another van, the one they have given him is too short for my FF, I did say it was nearly 6 ft and could not be sat on it's side. Just hope the tip passes will be ok as they have a different reg number on. bother.
So time to say bye bye, next time I will be online will be at the new house. Whenever that decides to work. Don't worry tiamai the neighbour will be getting several fingers pointing in his direction! Well after we've finished all the stuff we need to do here which will be done by friday.
:j Bye bye for now everyoneOne day I might be more organised...........

Morning all.
Good luck to lil_me for the move - hope you'll be VERY happy in your new home and please take a rest next week. You have worked like a trojan for too many weeks to remember so take some time out to relax and enjoy your new area.
To everyone else a big hello and hugs if you need them.
Its lovely here today, the sun is shining and DD is happily playing instead of shouting and screaming like she was yesterday (major fight between us last night) but she made up for it by bringing me breakfast in bed this morning to say sorry. A beautiful gesture and much appreciated but I could have done with it a bit later as I was up flying til 4am !! then fell into bed (well I woke up fully clothed wrapped up in the quilt as I hadnt remade the bed that I'd stripped:eek: ) Beds all hoovered and remade now as OH on nights and has gone to bed. Managed to get loads done last night as was pretty much playing catch up from all week, and did 4 lots of washing and tumble drying which was good as we have economy 7. Only really got to swish swipe kitchen, do dining room floor and replace all sofa cushions covers and throws then all 'public' areas of the house are viewable. Still have 3 major hotspots - our room, DS old room, and old au pairs room to clear. Hopefully later this week as only working 2 days, although I do have to have my highlights done. I have been through the DIY stages as its so high maintenance but now I go on a training day and get the juniors to do it - HALF price, so affordable.
Well cuppa for me I think, then finish jobs before I shower and head off out with DD somewhere, then it'll be cooking Sunday roast and baking before an early night as lift to work is at 7.20 tomorrow morning :eek:Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Morning all
Lil-me wishing you every happiness in your new home x
Vanilla - good luck with your hair, I have never had the guts to colour mine so can offer no advise
On the subject of hair do any of you ladies have straighteners. My hair is naturally chaotic but whent he hairdresser did it on Friday he straightened it, I liked it for going out occassions (could not be bothered day to day). I might get some straighteners for Chrimbo so any tips on which to get how to use appreciated.
Going to try some muffins in my new silcone cases soon.
Little 'dusty' cat has hurt her paw and is limping - I though it was just a cut on top but DS1 says she has damaed the pad - I need somebody else here to hold her while I look so could be emergency vet visit.
Also have a little bit to finish in the garden - it looks great where I removed a huge grass and have put new bargin penstemens in.
Need to be ready for the muddy ones to return from footie in a minute. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Morning all
Good luck with the move lil_me (I realise you probably won't see this now, but hopefully you'll feel the good wishes)
One load of washing on the line and another one in the machine.
Roast dinner cooking.
DH just got up. I woke him up at 9 with a cup of tea and then he went back to sleep. If I tried that I'd have a banging headache.
That's about it really. Hoping to do a little shopping this afternoon if my DD gets back from the Mall in time - I only want to go to the local shops. Was meant to go yesterday but DH couldn't be bothered.....0 -

The traffic wasn't too bad going, only slowed down just before the 4 lane bit :rotfl: (classic that - make it 4 lanes to help the traffic move...and it's still dead slow and stop:rotfl::rotfl: ) but Blackpool itself was heaving. We couldn't find a parking space in any of the official carparks (turns out there was a match on  ) so ended up parking on a main residental street (after checking that it wasn't a residential parking only area
). We walked from the mirror ball all the way along, stopping off by the tower to get chips from a shop in one of the back streets
Then walked along to the roundabout at the other end and all the way back:eek: There wasn't as much traffic as last year because the weather was nice and dry, but the pavements were HEAVING and there were lots of hen and stag parties about by 7pm. By 8pm the traffic was definitely backing up!
We've decided that next time we're going to go at lunchtime, see the piers, and then get the tram along to the very end of the lights where all the big displays are and walk back along after tea. We are not walking the full length AGAIN :rotfl::rotfl:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Dusty - I use my straighteners everyday and couldn't leave the house without using them. I only have some cheap one from the Remmington shop at local outlet village and these are the best ones I've had. You can buy GHD's, etc but at about £100 I can't justify that on myself but the best ones I've tired are ceramic plated ones. Also if you them a lot you need some protection on your hair, I use Redkens Anti-snap - its £££ but lasts ages and stops my hair from frizzing and breaking.Lightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!

Ooh Nicki - blackpool chips mmmmm.....
hello folks! Not much going on here today, just popped out to B&Q for some bits and DH is off doing jobs or sulking in the garden or something - who cares??? DS is full of cold this morning, at least it seems to have broken out now so poor mite might feel a bit better.
Doing a roast chicken dinner tonight so bird is defrosting, need to get BM on and somehow theres another basket of ironing to tackle. Got 3 storage shelves, 3 tier wire baskets on wheels, from B&Q for 50p each so have sorted two into shoe cupboard and will go and tidy understairs and put the other one in there.
Feel a bit down today so shall poddle off before my moods catching xxLightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!

Toria..I've been up a while but discussing what we are going to decorate/make habitable/throw out/sort through next in this over full hovel of mine. I have DD's 1&2 photographing ebay crap today.. a few more quid won't go amiss in here!
Michelle.. sounds like they are trying to bully you into leaving!!!! Don't let them upset you and if necessary threaten them with legal action for harrassment!!!
Lil_me .. Good luck with the move.. Take as long as you need I'm happy enough to continue here in your stead. Hope all goes smoothly and you new home is everything you need it to be.. and doesn't take 5 years to decorate like mine is doing!
Cuppa before anything else, then I might make a move on filling a wheelie bin.. that is my task for today.. bin the junk!
A wheelie bin full probably equates to the amount of christmas presents one child will get.. so if I fill a bin every week between now and christmas (9 weeks) I should hopefully not be buried under more trash after then.. in theory!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Yesterday I cooked a big lamb shoulder.. in the SC.. gave hubby telephone instructions on what to do.. take out of wrppings sling in SC put the lid on and press 'go' lol..
Anyway.. I went out for tea with my mother and when I got in did mash and veggies with the lamb.. Hubby ate it.. children at it.. all of them!!!! BUT I think it is disgusting.. (hence the reason I went out with my mother!!) so they are going to be eating it for the rest of the week.. but what do I eat in the meantime??
The remainder I am going to chop into 4 portions.. one lot of lamb casserole with the stock from yesterday.. a few wraps for lunch tomorrow and one batch in the freezer for a salad next week... Best buy a piece of pig for myself!! and defrost a chook!!
A well spent £3.99 if you ask me!! (was cheap in Tesco!)LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
