And have totally forgotten that I need to pay £110 to the carpet fitter in two weeks  Juggled some figures around and it's going to be a bit tight until the end of July, but is doable. Feel so silly to have forgotten that. Was planning on using the emergency fund, but I only have enough left for the two tanks of petrol I need next week, going to have to get hubby to pay for food when travelling to and from the funeral. Mil said she would give me some money, but she hasn't and I don't like to ask at this moment in time.
On the plus a new light pull for the bathroom was £2.50. Will actually e able to turn the light off now, been permanently on for a few days as I can't reach the top bit and the string broke :rotfl:
Taking the boys to town today to get their hair cut, they have outfits, hubby wants to pop out over the weekend and grab some new trousers and shirt, need to check the girls wardrobe but should be OK, I am hoping to squeeze into a dark green skirt and a dark blue top. Diet is going well and I really don't want to buy anything for a funeral, so feeling inspired.
Anyway extra job today as have the smallest boys hosp appointment tomorrow, so moved this one forward. Best get on.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Well hubby got £2300 tax rebate :eek:he is on the wrong code and paying too much monthly, he quite likes it, I think he is stupid and should fix it :rotfl:
Anyway, means I can clear the carpet finance and free up £63 a month (it's finally being fitted in two weeks!)
Changed the smallest ones swimming lessons to one with a better ratio. He has done OK, but really dislikes a couple of the children in his lesson that don't listen and I feel he needs more personal attention. Also found a swim teacher who does private one to one lessons for the wierd one. He might never be able to actually swim, but his water confidence is non existent so if we can build that up it would be a start.
Anyway off to London in an hour, two shoes with my girl, looking forward to it. Just got to keep on the diet! :TDebt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Diet went okish. I pointed up the burger and bagel I had and used my weekly allowance. And then bought the biggest doughnut I have ever seen. It had a cheesecake filling  it was lush, couldn't quite finish it though and my stomach really protested later :rotfl:
London was mayhem due to the west end Live whihh we were not going to. We wet and saw six as I have been desperate to see it again since I saw it in feb, anyone who can get to London to see this is in for a treat. It's also going on tour in a couple of months too. It's just amazing, and fun, and so so good. Glhe booked to see it in August with the boy and girl, and also in Jan when me and the girl see mary poppins :rotfl: may have a slight addiction
Then after some food we went to see Jamie again. I went up a band of seats, but thq view was still restricted, but not by lighting rigs or railings, just people with huge heads :rotfl: anyway we were there so the girl could see one of her fav drag Queens from the drag race program. She was in heaven. Its a fantastic show so I had no problem sitting through it again, but my whole body ached from the seating.
Then we ran for the fast train, to get to waterloo and find it was cancelled, so slow train homegot in just after midnight. But overall a lovely day.
And came in on budgetDebt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Omg it was muggy today. So hot and sticky. The weird one was on one when I picked him up from school, he really doesn't cope with hot weather at all. Apparently the smallest had a mixed day, but we are so close to the end now.
Hubby got paid so sorted out ynab, mortgage ready to go out tomorrow. Otherwise nothing going on financially. The girls Tutor will be here later, so have the cash to pay her.
Need to pay for a swim class for the smallest on Wednesday, chase the one I have cancelled as emailed but not heard anything. And then pay for the private one on Sunday too.
Funeral later this week, will return with a pretty much cleared out emergency fund! But will be saving £250 a month to it again, so it should soon build up.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Heard from the cancelled swim class, direct debit now cancelled. Paid for the new one, he went tonight was fab, he even managed to put his face in the water! He was on his own as a trial so he dd loads of swimming an managed fine. Next week he will be in a group of three.
Had my half day so ran around desperately searching for school shorts for the small two, nothing anywhere. The small one has one pair and the wierd one will just have to wear trousers to the funeral. It's up north so am taking three degrees off the predicted heat for here :rotfl: but it will still be hot driving back Fri late afternoon/eve, thankfully won't be on sat in stupid heat that is expected.
Bought some new pe trainers for the wierd one, £9 from @mazon, on cc, my clothing budget needs to go direct to it next month, which is annoying, but he refuse to do pe on Monday as he claims his current ones are too small.
The smallest has had some bad days this week. Think the new swimming lessons have been worrying him, but I need to be consistent with what we normally do, so he has been sulking as he had to do the work he wouldn't do at shool when he got in, and had no TV at all. One more day! And husband is at home so will do the school run, he can deal with any issues for a change :rotfl:
Bags packed for tomorrow, leaving as soon as I get home at 3, sort car seats unpack work stuff, load up and go.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Funeral done, back home. £18 left in emergency fund  scary moment on the motorway when the oil light came on (low one, not scary red one!) annoyingly the dip showed OK, so I think the sensor is very sensitive. But it meant I ended up having to buy oil at a motorway service station, £46  I have some at home that cost a lot less, but because the dip was OK didn't add it to the car. (my old car ate oil so am used to checking and topping up). Anyway shoved about a litre in, light went out and car ran smoothly.
Hotel was lovely, tried to eat sensibly to keep up my diet, definitely over points wise, but didn't go mad so hoping for a loss on Monday.
The service was so nice. Last time we will travel to my husbands home town probably, glad because its not a nice journey.in laws have moved closer about three years ago now they will not be waiting for the call about grandma hoping to see more of them. Mil has been wary of booking trains to us in case she had to cancel.
Anyway, very quiet weekend planned, going to be stupid hot tomorrow, and the small two definitely need time out after the past two days.
Financially I have some more goals set up in ynab for some trips I want to take. Want to go back to Scotland with the girl after her gcse's next summer, I want to go to Paris with the hubby for my birthday next year and hubby mentioned a trip to Manchester for a couple of days, so aiming for his birthday. I have two completed goals, on for a trip to alton towers and one for the boy who is desperate to go to Newcastle for some crazy reason :rotfl:Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Omg, how hot is it today  have deliberately done nothing all day. Read a book, cleaned tee kitchen and have just put my sixth load of washing on :T four loads already line dried and folded.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a little less hot, need to mow the lawns, and try to tackle the front garden. Also need to start thinking about clearing the front room as have a new carpet coming on Wednesday :jDebt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Wrote a huge post on Wednesday and lost it so have stayed away in a strop :rotfl: hubby paid £850 for the carpet, but have decided to fully fund a couple of goals instead of paying off the finance. Its interest free over 12months and the payment is worked into the budget OK so going to let it run. I may try to overpay and get it cleared after Xmas.
New swim classes going well, but expensive:eek:also the private one runs through the holidays, but seeing the wierd ones confidence grow in just two sessions means I have to keep it up! He loves it and was so excited for his second lesson and the instructor has been great with him, but we both know it will be a long haul to get him swimming and it may never get there. I am willing to put 12months into it I think.
Have been using some pen and paper to forecast the budget and plan my ongoing goals. Going to be tight until Jan, and then we need to reapply for Dla for the smallest. If this isn't successful then there will be around £400 dropping from the budget as tax credits will take a hit too. Husbands job is fine, but he is covering a sabbatical and that ends in sep, so he may lose part of his payrise (he was temporarily move up a band) however there may actually be an opportunity to move up two bands which would actually mean a huge pay increase, and the possibility of being able to look at moving next year!
This weekend we bought a bbq which I had funded using te wish farm in ynab. I also reserved a shower caddy which I have wanted for over a year. It was nearly half price and a bargain, but I slept on it and decided it wasn't worth putting it on the credit card. It wasn't funded in ynab yet so not buying
Bought some school uniform at the weekend, I am floating that on the credit card, along with some gifts for the end of term. Will all be paid off on the 15th when I get paid. Not ideal and don't want to get into the habit of going it, but trying to get to town with the two teens and husband to help with th smaller two is a mission, and sat just seemed an ideal time. Also as teachers gifts needed to be ordered and posted I didn't want to leave it any later.
Been putting some plans in the diary for the holidays. Quite a few trips out, hoping the weather holds out in August.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Having looked at my budget I need to find an extra £66 for swimming over August (from September it is OK as mortgage goes down and it is all built into the budget from then) so it looks like the emergency fund will be unfunded until August. Annoying, but will catch back up in August.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

Daughters tutor is moving away from the area so will stop in two weeks. Which gives te girl the summer off, but will need to find a new one in September. She was the cheapest one I found, so a new one will be at least £5 more a week. Also the girl really likes her and is doing really well. Oh well, will think about it nearer September.
Busy day at work today, bother one tomorrow and Wednesday is goig to be crazy, need the girl to pick up the smalls from school asi will be working until 3.30, in, off to swimming then back and off to look at a college with the girl as she is applying in October!!! This one is a train ride away, so probably won't be her first choice, but it is highly regarded and it offers some different a levels which may suit her more.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1
