So braved town, didn't find jeans but spent money on some trousers and t shirts. The girl got her shorts and also got some for the boy and hubby. Everyone was pretty well behaved :T
Went for a burger as it was so late and I am now in holiday mode :rotfl: diet has not gone well and put on half a pound. Totally expect to put weight on over the next two weeks, but will still try to make better choices. Will assess the damage in two weeks time.
Today was mega stressful, got so far behind and was not happy with my new clients house when I left. Have texted to make them aware, did the best I could and I was squeezing them in this week as a favour, so don't think there will be an issue. Just felt bad.
Two more days until a well earned week off. Been costing up various things to do in Cornwall, and have set up a new category in ynab for holiday funds breaking it all down a bit. Quite an eye opener tbh. Have £1000 saved up and petrol, food and entrance fees for the six of us will probably swallow that up! Shouldn't go over though.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
We are ensconced in our Looe apartment, it is lovely. The shine of arrival was somewhat tarnished by the smallest realising thst he had left one of his toy hedgehogs behind (he has four, and he forgot his favourite one, these are his 'thing') and was distraught for about an hour, and then behaved shockingly walking down into the town. Then the weird one fell over and went into complete autistic meltdown. On top of taking over 5hrs to get here due to the awful traffic, I am fried :rotfl:
Anyway, definitely scaling back my plans for the week, the weather isn't looking the best, but hopefully it shouldn't be too wet. The boy was trusted to do his own packing. I did go on about his inhalers and socks. So he instead forgot swimming shorts and his jacket  luckily the girl bought two so he can borrow one but seriously, drives me bonkers.
So far spends have been on food shop this morning and petrol, and for a hotdog for tea. Really hoping to come in under budget for the week.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
So we are home. Not quite in budget, short about £100. But am still really pleased. Less pleased with the late payment charge on the credit card. My faulty totally, I pay £200 every four weeks when I get my tax credits. And because we were away I was less on top of the bank account (everything was going through ynab) and totally missed that I needed to pay it two days before the tax credits hit. (which I could do by covering from emergency fund!) so now I am in two minds about clearing it using my buffer and then repaying it over the next four months. But it's at 0% (for the moment anyway) and not sure the tax credits will carry on at the same level after renewal....... Will have a think about it.
Online food shop ordered, and a big list of things to do tomorrow before back to work on Monday. Boo.....Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -

Thanks hsl2, had a fab time, weather was perfect, not too hot or cold, only one one 'wet' day, so me and the girl went to the eden project while the boys stayed in.
The smallest struggled, he can only really do 2 days out in a row, so Sunday and Wednesday were quiet ones and I really scaled back the days out. He couldn't cope with being in the car too long, so we stayed close to Looe, but there was lots to see locally anyway.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Glad you had a good time. Have a good week next week.

Right, been slack at getting on here. Been a busy week. My diet is going.... Poorly. Sts this week, I seem to have cracked how to maintain weight which will be handy if I actually ever lose any!
Feeling poor, but all sinking funds full and it's payday on fri/sat.
Last weekend we had our day at legoland. This year we got there later and stayed on when the park shut (special corporate day for hubby's work) so managed some bigger rides with only 5min queues. Smaller two did well, only one bad scene from the smallest because te splash park was shut, but it did open later in the day. Didn't go crazy buying lego, even with the 20%discount as hadn't budgeted for it. Everyone was allowed a keyring.
Sunday saw the boy dancing in a regional competition. They didn't place which tbh was quite a shock! Even some of the groups who did place came and told us they were shocked. They were amazing, really synchronised and looked very polished and together. I am wondering if they were too polished as the judges seemed to be placing groups who didn't all dance together in time, maybe their dance style isn't what they were looking for. Anyway fab experience and I got a sneaky ikea trip, but was good and only spent £15 :rotfl:
Then yesterday I became very poor as the kids week tickets were released. I have had a goal in ynab since January and been saving. Managed to get quite a few shows, mainly because I wasn't looking or the big popular ones. Managed to get 6 tickets to a play called the falcons malteser which is in the vault theatre under Waterloo. Should have been £180, cost £90. So we are all going to that. Then booked the mousetrap for me te girl and the boy, and books tickets for six but ha to do it outside kids week as didn't have the dates I wanted. Then me and the girl have two more days in the west end in August seeing the Phantom of the opera, 9to5 and Witness for the prosecution and come from away. And me the boy and the small one have a trip to braniac live which I booked via the ticketmaster sale. Going to be a busy summer :rotfl:
It's the first time I have used the goal feature in ynab and must admit it worked really well. Goal already set for kids week next year:beer:
Also had some news. Husbands grandmother passed away. Not unexpected, he has been bedbound for two years and bad dementia. So emergency fund will take a hit for us to travel to the funeral as will need a hotel to stay vernight as its in the North West. But glad we have the option to do this.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Funeral is end of June, having to travel up Thursday after school and then come back on the Friday afterwards. Booked a Premier Inn £108 for two rooms and breakfast. Had to use the emergency fund, but it's what it's for right?! Ordered shirts for the small two and need to take the boy out tonight to find him something smartish to wear.
Overall the past week has not been good financially. Lots of little purchases and not happy with myself. This weekend was somewhat reflective about my financial and health goals.
On a plus I do have £600 saved for the summer holidays and have started to fill my week's off with a variety of things, including arranging to meet one of my oldest friends, been 18months since we met, longest we have gone in a long time!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Tax bill paid :T I have moved some funds around and with the funeral and repaying all my silly spends over the past week my emergency fund is very depleted. Will ha to build it up. I have also used my buffer to clear the credit card. I was so annoyed at getting the late charge I decided it wasn't worth the hassle, and I am happy that hubby won't wer be paid late, he is paid on 25th, so will fund the following month. So I am credit card debt free. Just the loan, who I am always better with anyway. No Overpayments been made in it since Jan, getting the summer holidays out of the way, but will be resuming Overpayments once I have a bit in the emergency fund so probably from October.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

Have fallen at the first hurdle! Booked tickets to a comedian who is coming to our local theatre. Hubby was actually quite excited and never wants to go anywhere ever so took the plunge. Will pay off next payday.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1
