sammi just tell your bf then that he doesn't have to eat any. your make them just for u and ben. when he smells them he'll soon change his mind , lol.

i've made flapjack from museli ., , not really gone to plan tho. whoops.

I've read the whole thread (taken me a few days ) so a couple of mentions:

Kethry - a pantry is for bread (from the French pain); a larder for meat (cf lard).

Jamie - your boy is cuuuute! Shove us a doughnut - will go well with my :coffee: Anyone else want a cup?

D&DD - I now have a french bread tin on my Christmas list. Trying to resist buying a doughnut maker

Someone asked for a ketchup recipe (sorry, can't remember who ) Try this thread.

For other bread recipes, have you tried thriftlady's Adventures in Bread Dough thread (D&DD - see you have :T ).

I have an apple braid, granary loaf, and 8 brown rolls rising, 4 Christmas puddings steaming, and I'll be making some brownies, a coffee cake, lumberjack cake, and a batch of onion soup made with pheasant stock.

i think you might have to glaze them first before sugaring.

yesterdays lot had icing on and sprinkles and they stayed on ok:)

It's a little-known OS recipe for using up leftover lumberjacks Alternatively, its a beautifully moist cake made from eating apples and dates. Recipe anyone I know, daft question............HariboJunkie's Lumberjack cake.

thanks pen pen yes he is quite a cutie but a little terror in him too:D

have finished the soup...delish, HM mush soup is one of my favs.

have cut and frozen some brocolli from my veg box as i know i wont eat it all in a week:)

a bacon quiche or quiche loraine is in the oven at mo along with 6 apricot jam tarts out of the leftover pastry:):T

having a little browse and a cuppa now.... and then lunch (HM Mush Soup and a ham sarnie)

after lunch i will be prepping dinner.. sausages mash and onion gravy with veggies (and beans for my little vegaphobics)

and scouting around to see if there is anything else that needs using up:D

have checked out haribo's lumberjack cake, am copying it out into my recipe folder for later use as i know i am going to get dates in my fruit and veg box in the weeks before christmas

Sitting down finally with a mug of steaming coffee and they look just the ticket :drool: :drool: They are wonderful!! Definately look bigger than my ones so might have to swing by Tesco's lol as if I need a 3rd one...(but it is moneysaving isn't it :rotfl: )

I have to have a go at the lumberjack cake now..my 'to bake' list is getting as long as my 'to do' one :eek:

Wow you are all so inspiring. Am new to all this and learning lots about living the old style way!
D&DD could I just ask is your ds3 on his special diet because of allergies or to try to improve his autism? I ask as my boy aged 4 was diagnosed with autism aged 2 and I was interested (nosey lol)
